REDTECH Eagle v1.2

DOWNLOAD LINK

Custom, scratch-built Eagle design courtesy of me, AlexTSK

Model, textures, in-game rigging by AlexTSK

Mod Installation

Install with Trent's Minge Tool

Known Issues

Spoiler:

- The primary and secondary driveshafts don't rotate, this is currently a bug in the game where parts that use post IK snapping to each other refuse to rotate, this happens on the official cars as too.

Changelog

V1.2 31/01/2018

Fixes:

  • Fixed a long standing bug with damage textures showing up in the garage

  • Textures re-converted to use PBR flags (Thanks to Trent fixing GibbedTools). Textures finally appear as they were authored.

  • Fixed windscreen dithering improving in-car cam visibility.

  • Fixed impossibly large light beams

  • New Strings for the vehicle, skins, description and wheelnames.

  • Added a driver image in the garage.

  • Removed - Proto wheel set.

  • Balancing - Adjusted overall toughness , should be easier to be wasted and split.

Been putting in a lot of work into this thing over the last couple of weeks. Engine is done as the frame is coming along too, just takes a while to fill in all the underbody with tough looking construction. Going for a naturally aspirated v12 this time around so I dont have to deal with turbo manifolds and all that other detail. I will more than likely put this engine into the Eagle MK1 remake also to save time.

During the building of the engine I found some useful new unwrapping tricks that I will be using for the chassis which means I can get this thing textured sooner :)

Great work as always. Thanks for keeping a dead forum alive.

One question. If you pulled out those floor jack stands would they do anything ? :P

AHA! now that is properly reinforcerd chassis, atleast visually=D GJ! It would almost beg for rollcage inside of the cab, but that should kinda be in any and every carmageddon car =D

If it had a proper rear end and a little bit of proportion tweaks we may have ourselves a real winner :)

here is quick brainstorm on how I would tackle the rear end if new version of tez eagle. basically I would make similar "panels" that kinda "shiled the headlights" in the original and repeate same style/concept on the rear lights, to keep the unified design and the armored look of the front, and project it to the rear.

I can also see here AGAIN as with earlier versions of suppressor, that you tend to do that "sad dog's tail between the legs" kinda rears -> remember this?

And how just keeping the agles more or less consistent kicked up the Supp's look?

You keep softening the overall shape by inventing new shape that is not present anywhere else on the rest of the car, killing the flow of shape and introducing inconsistency in vis. design -> STAPH ´D

. =D keep the angles sharp and aggressive, just like the rest of the vehicle, don't play it down.

Too old for me to spend time doing hand drawings , scanning them into the computer, and pasting them on the website. Plus the fact that my memories going. I may accidentally post an image down my shorts or a nude picture of my wife and not know it til after an hour after I post it :P

OMG today must be a good day, not a single typo :)

At least I have the memories of not having to "show my work" in the math class, used to piss my teachers off :) Now I have to show my work because I forgot where I was (like those maps I released, a major uckfup :)

Coming along, slowly but surely chipping away at all the details. Reinforced the front and rear frame some more, transmission is done as well as the upper control arms, door cards and door jambs (which are always a pain in the ass).

Lots of stuff left to do but its getting there!

  • Front and rear control arms

  • Rear diff

  • Backfacing the remaining bodypanels

  • Interior Cage and remaining bits like seats, handbrake, shifter, pedalbox, dials etc

  • Exhaust

  • Wheel options

The good news are that once this is all done and dusted I can transplant a lot of it into the Eagle MK1, which should dramatically cut down the time it takes for that car do be completed. The engine actually fits into it and with some fiddling and luck I will be able to make the MK1 have a central driving position as its pretty much impossible to have max sit on the left or right with such a small cabin.

It gets really tedious building small details after a while but I promise the Eagle IV is going, its going quite well actually!

Just doing a little something to take a break from detailing

I have also emailed Conrad W Rudy (known in the carma circles are CWR) and asked for his model of the Stiffshifter, which I plan on adding to CMD (giving me an excuse to build a generic big block v8 to put in other cars)

Hopefully he can pass the model to me and I can do the rest, if not then I may or may not create my own based on his design, we'll see.

Here are some shots of said Stiffshifter, you can see how some of the design has bled through into the CMD model. The CWR Stiffshifter appeals more to me with its simplicity, and also is a good remake of the c1 version.

Doing some testing of the color scheme, gives me an excuse to use Redshift again haha. Just having a look at how a game res mesh would hold up in a ray traced engine, not too bad If I may say so.

Ofcourse the paint won't be this new once I'm done with the textures, this is basically just to see what materials go where. I've actually got a lot more done on the car since these renders but I'd like to wrap up the entire model before posting anything else so stay tuned :)
