They have no more money to port the game properly and if they did have some money left, it would have been a better ideea to distance themselves as much as possible from reincarnation and max damage and develop something sure to get them back some revenue.
Ideally, they would have made a new carmageddon game just for the switch, where they could have taken the original carmageddon 1 or 2 games and give one of them a face lift. By face lift I don't mean better textures and light but also better car models and a bit more sphisticated buildings and props but not to the extent done in reincarnation.
Something of an in-between the original carma 1 and reincarnation's level of detail would have sufficed.

Yea, I wouldn't mind a carmageddon 2 ish (let's call it carma 2.5) in the switch.

Take note how the kickstarter budget was less than 10% of what it cost to make the game, hope that gives at least some people some perspective
