hi guys.
why with some carmageddon1 levels max damage crash? I used minge for all mods. but some maps crash at loading race

Re: '80s Garage

by '80s Time Warp
If I remember rightly, the C1 levels use the C1 cop cars, so if those cars are not enabled then the level will crash. I didn't really mess around with the C1 levels so I can't confirm any issues.

It's best to check with Trent as he's the author of the C1 pack. You can PM him on here, or head over to the discord server.

If you can have a list of the levels that crash ready to report to him, and any diagnostic data from when you try to load the affected levels, then that will help with narrowing down the problem. That said, it could be a bad download, so it might be worth re-downloading the C1 content and doing a fresh install of it.

How to enable the diagnostics:
  • Create a new Folder called ‘Diagnostics’ in your Carmageddon Max Damage Folder
    (…\Steam\SteamApps\common\Carmageddon Max Damage)
  • In steam, Right Click on Carmageddon Max Damage and select Properties
  • Select ‘Set Launch Options’
  • Type ‘-dumplogs’ in the prompt (without the quotations)
  • Press ok.
Every time you start the game, it will create a 'script_log' and 'session_log' within a time-stamped folder in diagnostics

Hi! I have a problem with the cars with carmodgeddon in multiplayer only. All is good in solo, but when I'm in multiplayer and I put more than 35 cars, the game crash no matter the car I added. Someone know a solution for that? Thank you!

Re: '80s Garage

Posted: Tue Aug 13, 2019 6:22 pm
by '80s Time Warp
Is that 35 mod cars? Or 35 cars total including the official cars?

Regardless, I don't know of any workaround to this. If I am remembering correctly, there was an issue back when C:R multiplayer was at its' peak, where the game would only take up to 16 extra cars or something like that. So the Community just had to get selective with which cars they would use in a session.

Re: '80s Garage

by superwizzman
Is that with official cars and modded. How many official cars it have? Less than 35 five I think, so, official cars and mod cars.

Yes I understand we could play with 34 selected cars, but it's better if we can play with full cars. :) It's cool to play with like 45 cars in random. It could be really nice session :)

As cool as it would be to play with as many cars as you want - there is no fix for this, it would require an official patch to remedy any limits.

Thanks a lot for your answers 80s Time Warp! :) Oh it's sad... It is a bug you think? Or a desired limit? Do you thing in lan or personnal servers it coulb be possible to fix it?

Re: '80s Garage

Posted: Thu Aug 15, 2019 6:22 pm
by '80s Time Warp
It's a bug rather than a desired limit. The modding mode was never completed as Stainless had to drop support since the game only grossed around half of its' cost of development.

CarMODgeddon was originally intended to support custom everything: Textures, Game Modes, Power-ups, Pedestrians/Drivers, Trailers, Sounds, UI, career mode and much more, including an official SDK & Steam Workshop support. But the budget simply couldn't stretch to it given the lack of sales. It's a shame, I don't think there's anything you can do to get around the limit.

Only CarMODgeddon mods are supported for multiplayer. If you have any ZAD mods installed, as per the warning listed here, this triggers the games cheat protection, which locks out multiplayer. You must remove all ZAD mods before the game will allow you access multiplayer. Also, if you have modified any of the games main ZAD content, this will also lock out multiplayer.

Also, when it comes to playing multiplayer in CarMODgeddon, the other players must have the exact same set of CarMODgeddon mods installed and active, or you will get data mis-match errors when you try to connect.

Simple, go into the zad directory (...Steam\SteamApps\common\Carmageddon Max Damage\ZAD) and remove any zad mods you've pasted in.
