Failed to start game (unknown error)

Hello! I purchased this game through the Steam Thingy. It downloaded while I was out at Harbor Freight getting an air powered needle scaler. I went to play and got the error mentioned in the title. It looks like Steam has a whole separate convoluted support system. Before I messed with that I figured I'd ask here if anyone had this issue? I searched and came up with nothing.

what are your specs?
Im aware you probably have a kickass computer but the new carmageddon
game is like the cult classic racing version of Crysis...I know a rad laptop that couldn't even run that game fast (crysis) even with its 8gb of ram, though that was years ago, still though.
Might be on steams side though.

It's actually an old 2007 Dell XPS720 gaming rig. It can still run pretty much anything. Skyrim on high detail is no issue, things like that. How do I redownload it?

Right mouse click on title in your library of games and "delete local content" then reinstall.

Did that, reinstalled and still get the same error.

I assume you're running Win 7 or 8??
You might want to ask over on the Carmageddon.com forums.
Post your system/machine specs, operating system and video card specs etc.

Nope, the old Dell is still on XP Media Center Edition. In reading the minimum spec it says Windows 7, so I guess I'm out. Oh well. Thanks for the help.
