It was an accident with a pole on the track the "Big ring" as soon as I pulled away from the post the game freezes. Before the "Hot Fixes" update the game freezes when just riding along and I got carried away.

Interesting. The only time I've encountered a crash was on the exact same track (Monty as an opponent had drove straight into a wall). It hasn't crashed for me since I made the adjustments. I'll have another round of tests on just that one track and see if I can reciprocate the result.

Just stopping by to give a big 'thank you' for a fantastic job on these meaty V8s. Having an absolute blast with Leadpumper at the moment and it handles just how I'd imagine an update to the original vehicle would! I'm off to wrap Kutter around a concrete road block... Cheers MM!

After 20 minutes of mowing down lamp posts, light poles & road signs behind the wheel of the Monty Carnage on both Death Race & Classic Carma events on the Big Ring - I haven't encountered any crashes. Were any other mod/custom cars present in the event at the time? If possible, can you repeat the event with an official car and see if the crash persists? And have you got any other mods/changes installed?

I dont think he designed them for Carmageddon. He did it using Lego Digital designer. Which BTW is free in case someone wants to try making cars with it, depending on the export formats.

Kind of false hype there.

Always wanted to play with Legos but couldnt afford them :) The export formats are LXF, LXFML and Ldraw files.

Update in case someone wants to try it. You can use a couple of converters if you want to try and get it into 3ds Max.

Oh man, all these muscle cars with the improved shaders and materials and touch more shine of the new update.

They're gonna look SO GOOD in the new build, i got a good gut feeling about it!

@Starbuck, sorry for the delayed response. I am familiar with the lego digital designer, I haven't used it in a few years though, hehe.

EDIT: Updated images of first post. I will need to make some tweaks but the cars still look pretty good in the new build regardless

I guess it's about time I revealed something I'm working on.

This one is quite a departure from my normal vehicle type, but it's still vintage & has a carburetted Big Block V8 Under the hood. Presenting the second in my line of Vigilante 8 Rebuilds...

'67 Rattler


Taking significantly more inspiration from the Cutscene/FMV Model (Stylised Shelby Cobra Daytona) over the Interstate '76 Origins (Regular Shelby Cobra)



After letting some of my traditional Muscle Cars push it around:


This has still got minor tweaks to be done, plus the custom skins, but the basics are all there.

Thanks FatCat. The '67 Rattlers' beauty doesn't last long in a Carma event. Unlike the '72 Moth Truck, this one is really built for going fast and staying clear of the pile-ups.

Just suggestion from my point of view, a lot of areas could use more beveling and smoothness (eg where the lights meet the bodywork, window frames, door and panel cuts, and window frames could all use a bit more details and curvature). Its quite apparent on the leadpumper as well which makes the car look like it was made for an older game and gives it an extremely boxy appearance.

Sweet ride nonetheless, keep it up sir!

The slightly 'sharper' edges are very much my signature. However I can certainly revisit the window frames, tail light bezels & rear deck. As for the panel lines, there is no genuine curvature there as the panel lines are all textured rather than 3d, but that's my style.

It might well be time for the Leadpumper to get its 150000 Mile service, especially as it was the first model I started rebuilding for CR. Funnily enough, at the time it felt like I was throwing obscene amounts of polys into it hehe. A few extra steps around the pillar trim, window trim, and possibly the rear valance trim won't hurt.

I'd love a V8 online battle for sure :D
Definitely. It'll have to wait until We've got a few more cars to use.

EDIT:

It's not too easy to make out from these images, but the Leadpumper has had some tweaks to the chrome trim. All upper corners on the Side Pillar trim, & the rear window have been rounded off. The A-Pillars have also been tweaked, as for some reason the base of the pillar was narrower than where the pillar meets the roof.




These revisions will be released with the next batch of light updates, which is mainly waiting on figuring out the problem with the illuminated light material. For some reason, I can't get the material (that the official cars use) for the illuminated lights to work at all.

The '67 Rattler has also had similar treatment. The side window trim by the C-Pillar, Windshield trim & the rear window, Tail light bezels, licence plate slot and the rear deck have all been smoothed off a bit.

Holy moley, i didnt notice before just how awesome your customization options are, the skins are so diverse and you have like 10 sets of rims to choose from for all cars.

As a spoof of a Shelby Cobra Daytona, it certainly would fit in with the E-type and Miura :)

The '67 Rattler will be ready soon. I've still got to sort out the rust-bucket/barn-find skin & make one more wheel. The big issue right now is I'm trying to solve a problem on the Paralyser Trash-Em that may be causing the game to crash in certain instances.

I hope to get the new cars & updates out after the next game update. It would be nice if UI text can be set without having to invalidate the game cache. We'll have to wait and see though.
