Post by Garg99 »

I'm not even gonna bother you with my specs, they are far beyond anything you could ever dream off. Suffice to say they are the latest and greatest.

yet...i still get lag. Why is this? 2 years ago i made he claim that carmageddon 4 was badly programmed, and people counter-signaled me saying my hardware was shit (even though I had, (at the time), top of the line hardware)).

So, fast forward tqo years later.

NOW how does run?

Well, I get 60 fps at 1080p

BUT

I should be getting 144 at 1440p

Yet, that is not the case. why?

Well, as i said 2 years ago, the game is badly programmed.

SCi is incompetent and have ruined the carma franchise.

all they did for this "new game" was disable a few pixel shaders and call it a day.

hmmm.

also, it's fucking sickening that you allow hillary clinton to be run over. it's borderline a death threat.

just admit you took my money and ran

Valid point but why are you complaining on stainless's forum??? You should report that to SCi! (look at bottom of the page, stainless logo, not sci, wrong web site!)

And yeah i don't understand how these fascist austrialian deveoplers went away with hilary being ran over in the game, maybe because they live on the other side of teh planet, too far too sue!! criminals! took money and ran

OP did you consider what you call top of the line could be shit to someone else?

Its pretty scary when you say its top of the line but you dont even list your setup.

And why bring Hilary into it when you know she lost fair and square but the same rules we have been running for 200 years ? Still mad over that and taking it out on the game ? They have Trump in there too doncha know. You might want to learn the term SATIRE.

And BTW I can dream of quite a bit.

People say its shit so the best solution instead of listing what you have and prove them wrong is to buy a whole new computer and prove them right. Hmmm

build one thats so great people have to IMAGINE what you have instead of you telling them.

You got a connection so you can run it using your mind instead of a processor ? Because I can imagine that ..

Why you get "lag" has nothing to do with how fast your PC is. Lag is there because we still dont have instantaneous internet connections.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lag

Funny I have a PC that was new a year ago and yet it runs at 60 FPS at 1080p as well.

He has a Radeon R9 290, which was hardly even close to top of the line two years ago. It's a card which could barely hit 60fps at 1440p in the most optimized of games from 2 years ago without significant tweaks to the graphics settings. In the two years since he last idiotically complained about it not running the game at the performance he felt entitled to, it's unsurprising to see him just as ignorant about how hardware and games work as ever.

At this point it's obvious to everyone that Garg is either a plain old troll or is just a computer illiterate moaner who gets his opinions from reading /r/PCMasterRace zealots. If he really had such a large stick up his arse about frame rate in games then he wouldn't be using a 4 year old Radeon. The fact that he's now complaining about it "only" running at 60fps speaks wonders about the fact he doesn't actually care about any of this, but rather is only here to complain for the sake of complaining and will make any excuse to do so.

i had the r9 290 2 years ago, bud

I've got a 7700k at 4.7ghz and 2 1080tis in SLI now + 32gb of ram and 2 500 gb ssd.

and ofc the radeo wasn't top of the line 2 years ago, it was however close to it, and when i bought it 4 years ago it was. I don't know why you are reading my old posts and assuming i hav the same hardware.

I assumed you hadn't upgraded from the radeon I remembered you making a big fuss about because you were comparing the performance you get now to what you got 2 years ago and moaning about only getting 60fps in 1080p. Maybe you should have posted your new specs before you started bitching?

Personally I've got a GTX1080 (factory OC'd, no hand tweaking) and i7 6700k at 4ghz and just did a quick test for arguments' sake. I'm getting a consistent 110 to 120 fps at 1440p on Bleak City Outskirts (the worst performing environment). This is also with the machine being bogged down by 5 instances of Visual Studio, massive databases loaded in SQL Server, Affinity Photo editing large images, Unity open, PHP Storm open, about 50 chrome tabs and various other bits and bobs spread across the three monitors, so not exactly the optimal gaming performance out of my hardware. A 1080ti should hit 144+ no problem. Maybe you need to open the config file and change the limiter if it's set?

I don't know why your complaining about Hilary getting run over. Donald's in the fray too. And whu are you storming the forums which are not SCi complaint lines? If your game is running slow, then try to figure out what's wrong, instead of bitching at everyone until it gets fixed.

Well, he owns computer that is more than powerful enough to run game, so he has right to complain. Though I would advice trying to find what causes performance problems would be much more fruitful than plain complaining.

Garg, if you haven't yet realised (from multiple waggish answers to your posts), this game has nothing to do with SCI. SCI was defunct in 2005, and you make clown of yourself everytime you call Stainless games inc. to SCI.

Except he's not having performance "problems". As I suggested in my last post, the game is likely just running up against the frame limiter set in the config file. The limiter can be changed to a maximum of 225fps and will max out the performance.

Of course rather than calmly asking the question about why the game maxes out at 60fps and explaining his specs sensibly, Garg ran with his usual modus operandi of indignant rage, insults and condescending self superiority which got in the way of anyone giving an actual answer to what was going on.

That answer was aimed more at Legomeakers attitude than Garg's problems. I don't see why somebody who has powerful computer is not allowed to complain if somebody who has not so good computer isn't complaining. "You are complaining that your computer with recommended specs can't run game? Well, guess what? I don't even have computer! Do you see me complaining? No, you are not, so shut up!"

Btw, there should be configuration guide in Carma Wiki. That way people with expensive computers without knowledge could modify it too.

It CAN run the game. but run the game well ?

If the specs for example say a video card must be capable at running at 640 x 480 that is the expected specs. You cant expect it to run at 1080 x (whatever) at the same frame rate.

followed by my statement that SCI cant fix LAG.

Read the initial complaint ? "yet...i still get lag."

There was no indication Fr0nts statement was a joke . For example some people actually think there are child slaves on Mars.

^That and there is one more layer of the joke or perhaps satire, to Fr0nt posting "Fix It Sci" in three consecutive posts. It is mimicking style of one specific person here in order to poke fun of this strange 3-4 posts in a row spam like habit. Maybe it even was a polite hint that something is not right with that =D
