C2 on XP (Again)

Post by random_monkey »

I bet you're all fed up of seeing this post, lord knows I am...

As the title says, I am having problems getting C2 working on XP.

I've followed the tutorial that was on maim but it doesn't seem to want to work for me...

I did this:

Installed C2

Installed the zombie V2 patch (Mine is the zombie version)

installed the noCD crack

installed the glidewrapper

setup the glide thing for C2

ran C2 and selected it to run in glide

but it comes up with "Carma2_hw.exe has caused an illegal operation bla bla" (Or whatever the XP version is)

Anyone got any clues?

Well, since I haven't been around awhile, this is a new thread for me. I'm running C2 on XP and have installed most of the patches/cracks you mentioned without a problem. (I didn't have to do the zombie patch).

I guess I would take it one step at a time to see where it breaks.

Does it work after initial install??

Yes?

Still work after Zombie patch?

Yes?

So on until it breaks.

Note: on mine I get an error thrown after loading, but I just click "don't send report" to get rid of error message, then click "launch" and it works fine. <shrug>

I don't get any stage where it's working, that's why I'm doing all this

I've tried compatibility mode, and without the glide wrapper too

Oh, tried using Beast's .exes to no success aswell :/

(The error message is "carma2_HW.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close")

I intend to try again tonight.

I'll get rid of the C2 install and the wrapper, then take it step by step and see if I can get it working at any stage (As coffeycup suggests.)

Just out of curiosity, what does the v2 patch do when you run it? - I get a little console window that pops up and disappears, but it doesn't look like any text appears in it... Should there be any text or anything?

Also, the V2patch I can't really test if it works or not 'cos it still says the NT error when I try and run it. It's when I try and use the nocd crack that it buggers up. :/

the v2 patch is an installer, it asks you where to extract to and then you extract it overwriting files.

if you wish monkey pm me on irc and ill send you the extracted files.

So it's the NoCD crack that's doing it.

I use the nocd crack and it buggers it up...

Anyone got /ANY/ clue what it might be?
