The website has had a few cosmetic changes as well as a few new features:

- Thread subscriptions - you can now subscribe to threads without needing to post a message first

- Highlighted Dev posts

- Badges that can be assigned to users

If you have any issues or notice any problems, please post in here.

What prompted such a drastic change? The new emphasis and red and black is looking very late 90's, I almost expected to hear the voice of Patrick Moore as GamesMaster somewhere off in the distance too. :) Can we have an option to swap out the red, maybe per use colour personalisation?

I usually browse via forum/new/ bookmark and every single post seems to have it's last update status reset to now? I suppose I'll have to forum/markasread and do the manual trawl

Just go through all topics again!

I'm not a fan of this bright red, it's messing up my eyes, maybe that's just because it's so early.

I agree - red has too much contrast with everything else, and the highlighted posts are hard to read.

I also like it more, more readable for me at least.

But can we change our avatars now? How?

Avatar selection has now been fixed - should now be able to see the Avatar selection when editing your account.

Well, I remember I donated $15 during the KS campaing, yet I have no badge :(

And yes, both my Carmageddon and KS accounts share the same e-mail.

I think at the moment it is for people that donated 25$ or more, ie. the ones that can use the kick me private area. Though I could be wrong.

to be honest I think the highlighted dev posts read just fine. Perhaps some of you guys need to calibrate your monitor.

Mine's calibrated - it's just red that IMHO has too much contrast with the background. But I just fix that with custom CSS, so it's not that much of a bother.

Custom CSS? Intriguing. Is that a browser plugin?

It's standard in Opera. Most other browsers let you set it up, too, though AFAIK you need plug-ins if you want to apply custom CSS to just a single site, or if you want to use more than 1 CSS file.

For me its showing up good, I like the new colors.

Can be either a cheap monitor or your eyes. :D

For me the previous colors were hardly readable.

It's a good thing that the e-mail notifications now work (they didn't before the update for me), but could the template be changed to put the link to the new post at the top of the message (so I don't have to scroll down to get to it)?

I'm currently in the process of updating the subscription notification emails so hopefully you'll see some improvements to how it's laid out soon.

I'm not seeing the link anywhere to subscribe to a thread. Is it still in the works?

The subscribe to thread link is just underneath the text for the main post. We are looking at improving the location of this link.

Ah yes, found it. Eventually. Yes I think it needs to be more obvious, certainly for multi-page threads where you need to go back to page 1 to find it.

The new red is quite unpleasant. The old forums looked just fine, now I find I don't want to visit just becuase of the contrast. Plus the needlessly shiny buttons added nothing. It all feels very tacky now. :(

I like that posts by Stainless employees are in red. This makes it a lot easier to scroll down past all the user posts and go straight to the next post from one of you guys.
