Carma TDR Directx [Solved]

Post by Horrigan »

Title.

That fucking error on the second level, the Directx Error.

Yes, I've disabled fog, changed 2,2,2 to 2,2,0 etc etc.

Don't hate me but I actually want to play it..

I like the driving in it.

Edit:

Found a fix!

Go into the Games Options (For Steam), hit advanced, for MIP Filter, select "None", and uncheck Pixel Fog (For some reason it worked in the settings but not the document.)

At least you can get it to launch.

I cant even launch it w/o it crashing right away, before I see anything.

^ I suppose you have tried compatibility options? And if you have an integrated gpu (ala Intel), made sure the game run using the proper graphic card?

[edit] I read you tried all that already. What about trying to install the MAX-Pack over it? Who knows.

Quick question, any way to get the music to work?

It simply doesn't work for me.

Music isn't included, it was part of the CD Audio so there's not playback here!

Maybe it'd be possible to download the soundtrack (it's on Mastro's forum) and get it to play via winmm.dll?

Mine wouldn't work either, but I had it installed on my secondary SSHD, installed it on C: drive and it works fine now.

MAX-Pack actually works with the Steam version, just tested it, I only tested if it launched, and loaded/played the first level. I played with the 12 opponents tweak and with some trainer options enabled, it still hasn't crashed on me surprisingly. Don't know for the bugs yet. I wonder if they did some kind of update to the game before releasing it on Steam? Anyway, download link is in my sig, you only need v1.14f.

Just tried uninstalling it, and installing on C: drive (was on D: ), and that doesnt work either.

I keep getting memory access errors:

Software mode = 0x77423ac3

Hardware mode = 0x69b423bc

Edit:

Getting closer.

Did the '2,2,2' to '2,2,0', and I see a little launch box now, saying starting Carmageddon (or loading, or whatever), but it still crashes on me before I see anything but a black screen.

:(

Edit again:

Tried the maxpak, but that crashes at the same spot also.

It seems TDR 2000 is getting harder and harder to try starting up, should we all try the possible total conversion into Reincarnation? I sure wouldn't mind doing this thing again, without concerns of crashing or that shite.
