I think C2 "sucked out" the dystopian future scenario. TDR rather brought it back, allthough in a more post-apocalyptic way.

Yeah, The Sparrow was good. And The Beast and Jadead looked wonderful. There surely were nice cars. I hope that they eventually make it in reincarnation with help of stainless or by modders... Better by Stainless of course >)

I very much want The Bridge level back! And armed peds! In gangs! (Actually I even want heavy armed peds and peds on medium-sized motorcycles)

Well, let's try to make a list of someway good things in TDR 2000.

1. Afterburner! But of course, not so physics-breaking.

2. Pedestrians fighting back trying to fight back.

3. Wide spectre of different cars. Did you know, that Wheel can climb on the low walls?

4. Nuke bomb as a weapon. Because there is no kill, like a overkill!

And now, do-not-want list.

1. Alot of missions. Well, let there be plot missions - like killing the boss of area, et cetera. But hey, let the difficulty line-up will be someway smoother. Sometimes missions at the end were alot easier than at start- or midgame.

2. La-a-arge levels. And how the levels are built too. Madness.

3. Fake difficulty. When you make difficulty higher, and what do you get? Oh, no, price of everything is higher! While this must be smarter more dangerous enemies. Just imagine them taking bonuses.

4. Four minutes time limit mentioned before.

5. Boring postapocalypse. Direct missing the point of Carmageddon.

Add your own thoughts.

But levels should be large! And bult with madness!

The rest is...rrright. Personally I don't find postapocalypse boring. Wasn't the main theme of carmageddon, but still was nice.

You got me thinking...

What about PRE-apocalypse? And then apocalypse? And then postapocalypse?..

Madness?

Madness is good when you're talking about carma! Good suggestion! I hope developers see this!

And I forgot to mention another cool thing in TDR! Free Driving mode.

Now our list looks like this:

5. Free Driving mode. (maybe available only after the end?)

And now, do-not-want list.

1. Alot of missions. Well, let there be plot missions - like killing the boss of area, et cetera. But hey, let the difficulty line-up will be someway smoother. Sometimes missions at the end were alot easier than at start- or midgame.

2. Fake difficulty. When you make difficulty higher, and what do you get? Oh, no, price of everything is higher! While this must be smarter more dangerous enemies. Just imagine them taking bonuses.

4. Four minutes time limit mentioned before.

Hope so! edit: It sounds so mad that I decided to move it to it's own thread here.

This or after comletion of all races and/or/etc missions on this map.

Asphalt Snake wrote:2. Fake difficulty.

What about dynamic difficulty? That's wrong term, but you will understand me if you play Left 4 Dead and/or read some technical info about how they track player's stress level and adjust difficulty accordingly.

I think most peaople agree with the fact that TDR was less funny than C1 and C2. But I just want to mention a handfull very nice items in TDR we should honor:

- Powerup: Nuke

- Powerup: Hover Craft

- Powerup: Razor blades on the wheels (unfortunately they didn´t do any harm)

- Pedestrians attacking Cars (throwing Molotovs or hitting it with metal Sticks)

- Utah Saint Soundtrack (not quite as nice as Fear Factory, but still great)

- Well, even though single player sucked, it was fun in Multiplayer (I think I olnly played multiplayer games and races were pretty funny)

I really hope Stainless isn´t too much annoyed by TDR, but including the few cool elements TDR brought to the players!

Updating the list!

Good things.

1. Afterburner! (But of course, should be not so physics-breaking)

2. Pedestrians fighting back trying to fight back.

3. Wide spectre of different cars.

4. Nuke bomb as a weapon.

5. Free Driving mode. (maybe should not be available from the start)

6. Hovercraft powerup (from the Nosebleed Pack)

7. Powerup Razorblades on wheels (from the Nosebleed Pack)

8. Multiplayer

9. Memorable awesome bridge mission.

Bad things.

5. Boring car damage system.

Enemies take bonuses? Sounds cool.

Maybe allow enemies to repair themselves too? Like in Carma comic. But not too much, so it won't be annoying. Maybe a special boss?

Perfect and accurate sum-up of stuff in TDR2000.

Just use TDR as an example of things not to put in a Carma game. I am glad Torus games is not at the helm. I am super happy that Carmageddon is finally home.
