Who's active here (for LumberJack)

Post by Razor »

Instead of replying in the websites thread, I shall stick it here (in a new thread) as you said.-

My site gets updated regularly when I've released something: https://razor.cwaboard.co.uk

Coffey's site is used to host his stuff, Maxine's, Timmy's and The_Bollocks' stuff and any other people who don't have a host, Coffey is probably the most active person in the Carma community right now: http://coffey.polygonized.com

Wasted! still gets files uploaded by N3wton and I (not sure if anyone else does it.): http://carma.jjunkies.com

I think Harm still adds stuff now and again to his site: https://harm.cwaboard.co.uk

Not much action going on recently though.

There are still a lot of people active here, the main person obviously being CoffeyCup, I visit here at least 3 times a day, every day. I know there are other guys who still visit regularly but don't post so much.

Perhaps others can reply to this thread with any other sites that they know of that get regular updates.

Thanks Razor. Its amazing actually that CoffeyCup is still around. When I was highly active here (in the C2 days), CoffeyCup was something of a community legend/myth, there were a few people who remembered him being around but he was a C1 guy and had been absent for some time.

When Deep_Blue and myself and a few of the others started to experiment with C1 car-making, I had asked around for an email address for CoffeyCup so I could ask a few questions. Thanks for the answers  we had a lot of trouble at that time trying to re-work-out the things that you guys had already worked out. I guess that's why I decided to publish my thoughts on the games' config files! As I said, pleased to see that a lot more progress has been made on what can be done with the game. I really should get them running again I guess... one thing at a time

Nice to see that Wasted is still going (needs an update too it seems!) I remember when that site started. Good one... I like the little image link to TSS there too, cute.

Thanks again Razor, its nice to get this update on what's going on. I think that of the names you mentioned, only really N3wton and Toshiba might remember me. I saw SoupaVedg reply to my post in the other thread (got any more C1-C2 conversions friend?) and I've seen that DB is still around. Anyone else still here who was around when I was?

Think there's a lot of new people to meet!

Around, but not as much as I want to. Again, health issues (The same ones, but heh) kinda take a lot of my time lately.

Nice! I am surprised actually to find so many still around. DB, rm, TTR, Econobrick and so on. Really surprised..

So I should ask if anyone is actually interested in getting more files on TSS. Since the current webhost doesn't run perl on the server, I am tasked with the job of converting our lovely posting environment to a php one. I've found one that looks like it will be ideal but am right on the start of the learning curve for that. I am going to put in the effort, but I think that it might feel a little more worthwhile if I know that people are still interested in submitting files to TSS

PS: thanks goes to rm for helping me convert the site into coranto last time, as now I'm faced with that task again its very daunting!

Hi Beast, thanks.. man it really feels like everyone is still here. That's really great.

SoupaVedg, let me know when you've got those files ready, the site is not ready to receive them but I can put them on manually now I have ftp access again. Same applies to anyone else who needs a host for their files (later on you'll be able to put them up yourself)

Well, hello ladies.

My last post may have actually been ten years back, but I recognize almost all the names in this thread. I suppose I can attribute the ones I don't remember to the aging process.

I must admit that "active" may not be the word to describe my being here, but I'll always be with you in spirit.

I'm generally alot busier than I was since my last post (x years back, not the one I made ten minutes earlier), actually having responsibilities. And I have a next gen console, so I don't get around to alot of Carmageddon anymore.

I'm still thinking about doing another sort of Starmageddon sometime again, but I can't really think of another movie iconic enough to work as this kind of parody and when I start thinking about the set-up and editing I just give up thinking and end up in Dragon Age again.

Mind you, I find this not as saddening as it may sound.

I suppose I'll check back in here sporadically, my job sometimes leaves me the opportunity (TV-job, woohoo!). Sorry for elaborating about me in this particular thread, but I figured I'd just save us an extra post.

Good to see all you guys again.

- Ed-Hed

edit: Just checked. It's been only four years... But in internetyears that's about ten, right?

Hey TTR. It has been a while indeed.

I'm talking PS3. Look for "Bakkerbaard". Mind you, I don't spend a lot of time online... Because I turn out to be a lousy gamer, in a worldwide perspective...

My sodding xbox did the red ring of death recently. Microsoft kindly collected it, fixed it and returned it for free though. So I'm still happy!

hey everybody!

im never really here anymore..i actually never got around to reinstalling c2 after my first windows xp install! used windows 2000 forever, then had to move on. dont you run into problems trying to play c2 on windows xp? haha im on windows 7 now.. i cracked my c2 cd years ago and couldnt ever find it retail after that.. i actually downloaded it a while back but never installed it.

im so fucking busy these days. life is good but responsibility sucks. i was 12 or 13 when i started playing carmageddon.. im 22 now.

jeez i cant stop periodically visiting this site though. things are obviously slowing down around here. just look down the list of post dates in the tdr forum. something inside me is seriously going to die if this placed stops being hosted though.

maybe if i can get c2 up and running again ill start making more c2 cars and skins. haha ive been in automotive design school for 5 years now. might as well design some post apoc death machines.

also really cool to see newly registered members. how the hell do you get into carmageddon in 2010?

well cheers everyone.
