@Razor; your file should also have those little guide lines for folding you know... At least, when I open the file they are there...

if you are having trouble finding out what the flaps are that you can use for the gluing, I have uploaded the same file with the white flaps. So you can compare them and determine the stuff that needs glue. :smile:

here's the one with the white flaps; white flaps

I can also do some of the other cars as well, if you guys like them. :smile: Currently working on the diablo. I also found out that for the bigdump you would need at least 2 A1 papers! :sad:

this is cool, printed it out last night.

I'd love to see pitbull's towmeister

or the screwie lewie2

and otis p jivefunks fat cat caddy.

I think those were the cars I put the most miles in

of course most of them are splatpack/c1

thunderbucket

I drove the purple piledriver a lot because it actually handled fairly well.

and the don dumpster plow

other than that I really can't remember many of the c2 cars.

except that forking ada sucked.

Herb-E monster beetle was alright but a little bouncy.

with a little physics tweaking, the anthrax monster van is still one of the most entertaining to drive

the 63 mack thermodyne was fun too.

I still love the 67 chysler newport wagon. especially with mad power and hardness

I'm not trying to give you a lot of work, just remembering what I liked to drive.

XD that's cool you guys!

I've uploaded the Diablo

diablo_colourflaps

diablo_whiteflaps

and the Porker 2

porker2_colourflaps

porker2_whiteflaps

I haven't made these myself yet btw... :lol:

ps: Oh, and carma1 cars are nicely lowpoly so that should work, but I just need to figure out how to get them to 3ds file with UVW info... so for now, I'll stick to c2 cars if you don't mind

These are great! But man, this is going ot take a while. I'm still assembling my first wheel on the Eagle. I think I need to get a new gluestick or something.

How are you doing this? Some software that unwraps a model?

I was just thinking though, while cutting out parts, what if you printed it out at 150-200% and spray-glued the printouts onto sheet copper. Then use tin snips to cut it out. Scribe the folds, peel off the paper and solder it together. Wouldn't that look cool on a desk, mantle, weathervane, lawn ornament kinda thing?

Haha, yeah that would be great! But working metal like that in that detail is actually quite hard you know. I know from experience. I made a flower out of metal once, but it's a real time-consuming job. especially the welding or solding part... Would still be cool though! :cool:

For the models I use Pepakura, a program that can import 3ds files with texture information and can unfold it very precisely. Pritty cool actually! The only problem is that you have to manually reasign the textures, but that's about 5 min. of work. And the folding can be rearanged afterwards, like moving parts, reasigning cutting edges, stuff like that.

and yeah, it takes quite a while. My eagle took me I think 5 hours, when you do it precisely. :smile: I would save the work for a rainy day :grin:

currently working on the thunderbucket by the way. :lol:

lol! the Max model is so great! :smile:

The thunberbucket is also done now;

Thunderbucket colourlfaps

Thunderbucket White flaps

The models like i did them before are actually not really that optimized. It would be better to remove all unnecessary stuff, and to slim it down to only an outer shell with doors, wheels and maybe the hoods. But from now on, the fenders will be integrated in stead of being loose elements.

Also, I don't know if I'm gonna make a lot more you know, it was more for fun... :lol:

Pitbulls Towmeister;

Pitbull colourflaps

Volvo Truck;

Volvo colourflaps

Don Dumpster

Don Dumpster colourflaps

I didn't create any files with white flaps, because I was wondering if you guys even use them? Or are the coloured ones clear enough?

Anyway, damn Harm, you should get back to real-life work! :oops:

I liked the white flaps.

maybe others can visualize it better, but my first eagle was a disaster. I find it looks more confusing than it is not knowing what folds under, and what gets seen.

If i'm the only one, don't worry about it, I've barely had enough time to get one fender done anyway.

stupid work getting in the way of real life.

okay, I will upload the white-flapped models too.

yeah, it's actually quite hard to figure out how the model fits together eh? I have the benefit of being able to see the models on my pc, so I can rotate them and see the difficult parts... but I don't think I can make it any easier...

anyway;

Pitbull whiteflaps

Volvo whiteflaps

Dondump whiteflaps

My Pitbull is almost done.

Glueing on the wheels now. Finish the last bits tomorrow.

At the beginning, I was wondering what I had gotten myself into.

Once I got past the front fenders the rest went smoothly

Hey sweet! good to see someone actually working on these models :lol:. I realize now, that putting them together is quite the puzzel, when you don't have the computer model in front of you on screen... What I can do is post some screens, or I could upload the pepakura models so you can look at them in the program itself if you like...

anyway, I'll upload my porkerII pictures later today! :tongue:

Heh, thats a cool collection. I think I need to do the Eagle 1 next!

I did end up opening the Tow Meister in in PT2 so I could turn it around and look at it and try and try and match up where a fold would be and where its tab should be glued. Like I said before, the beginning is hard - trying to find the best place to begin, but once you have a few of the tabs glued in the right place it starts to get easier :wink: A few times I glued a tab where I shouln't have and had to peel it apart
