The Best of Mac Carpocalypse

Post by coffeycup »

I'm not able resurrect Mac Carpocalypse in it’s entirety but I was able dig up most of the cars that I had on the old Mac Carpocalypse site – remember, this was back when polygon count mattered.

Hey thanks Toshiba.

No, Carma 2 is not on a hybrid CD. Only the TWT files are the same format, but the application is not. Hell, if you weren't on the other side of the globe I'd mail my used copy. I see there's 3 used copies on Amazon.com. Will they deliver to Okinawa?

TTR - yeah, that's my hope to turn out a few more. Got CarEd running - though wasn't able to import .ASC - throwing an error (topic for a different forum). It'll take me a little to get back up to speed - probably need to go through a tutorial or two. I have one or two half-finished cars I can muck around with.

I'm hoping it's like learning to ride a bicycle and it'll all come back to me again.

Gosh ! The "Death Race 2000" movie cars !

This is my favourite movie !

It would be sad if all those fine cars felt into limbs of lapse of memory ...

That's true. ADR and Slayer seem to be retired, and they were pretty much the two main juggernauts. At least Econo's still active, though. To a degree.

Isn't pretty much most of the stuff basically the same except the executives? I used a PC CD together with a crack for Mac on my old macintosh, regarding C1 though. And I've thought both C1 and C2 are quite similar, overall.

I thought that's what I was saying.

To put it another way, everything in the DATA dir is the same, TWT and TXT files.

But up a level on the root dir, not much is the same, a Mac wouldn't know what to do with an .EXE or .DLL, and a PC doesn't need a data resource fork.

I remember doing that with the Splat Pack on my mac years ago too, using PC Splat Pack CD and copying the DATA files into the Mac version of Carma 1. So I suppose you might be able to do what you suggest. But Toshiba's original question was whether the C2 cd was a hybrid.

If Toshiba wants to pay the postage, I'll just send him my CD. Be a hell of a lot easier.

Yeah, you did, I see now. I must have missed that. Oops

But it could work for C2 also then? I've never got a chance to try yet.
