Hah, looks like we got the news from the same source. I opened the e-mail as I was opening Bluesnews and saw the news there aswell.

Seriously though, this sounds somewhat more creddible then the announcement we saw at Gamespot back in June.

I'm gonna have to upgrade my system again to play it...

I actually bought a video-card especially for TDR, last time.

How bad can it get?

If there's gonna be a new one and it's worse, there's always Carma2 (or TDR, if you're a shmuck like myself) and if it's gonne be better, there's still Carma2 (if you're up for nostalgia).

As far as the wishlist goes I'll have to stick (for now) to what alot of the folks here have already said:

Please digital God, let it be as moddable as the other ones. Customizing rules, even if I don't do it myself!

My guess is that Novadrome(or whatever) is nice and "fun" to appeal to the masses, so that they make enough money to stay out of bankruptcy

Hate to bump an old topic, but I was right. SCi announced Scotland-based developer Visual Sciences will make the next Carmageddon, and has moved from prototype to full development on both the Xbox and PlayStation 2. No mention of a PC version. Big fucking surprise.

It's part of SCi's "trading update" and it ahould appear on game media sites and their official site throughout the day. They also announced a game based off 2000AD's Rogue Trooper series, reminded everyone about Galleon, and some other shit nobody cares about.

You can find more info with a little more digging.

OK, SCi added it to their website http://www.sci.co.uk/corporate/press_re ... asp?id=152

• As announced recently a new version in SCi’s Carmageddon series has recently moved from prototype into full development. This product is being developed on PS2 and Xbox by Visual Sciences, a Scottish based developer that has previously worked extensively for Electronic Arts.

I never heard of Visual Sciences and can't find one game they ever made.

[Edit 5 minutes later...] I found out the place was founded by the guy who created Lemmings and made last year's Formula 1: Career challenge, a sub par racing game for the PS2.

Making that comment without even knowing anything about the game is completely out of place and imho, stupid.

Well, I kinda agree with him. I mean, we're like the only people how give a crap about this series anymore and by not making a pc version, they might as well be saying "fuck you" to the lot of us just so they can go after more money.

Besides, What good is a good game engine (if it even turns out to be decent), if you can't add the kind of cars you like to it?!

For shame!

(although it's a bit early tell....so perhaps they will do a pc version?!)

It's a shame Halo PC absolutely blows in comparison to it's X-Box variant.

Fuck that. Even I as primarily a console gamer say "BLARG!".

I'm not even getting it if it goes console-exclusive.

Just look: The replay value of Carmageddon comes mainly from all the modding that goes on - I refuse to go online with consoles (that's what PCs are for!) so nothing's gonna happen there.

My brother in law was hanging around at IGN.com and we picked up this here link. I didn't read the store properly myself yet, but I saw something about Carma4 coming to PC after all.

Here's the link:

http://ps2.ign.com/articles/498/498160p1.html

I don't know how much trust we may put in IGN, but I guess we can go and get our hopes up again, eh?

Im sorry i have to say it but, if SCI dont release a PC version then they will have made a HUGE f***ing mistake. I played Carmageddon 64 on the Nitendo 64 and it was basically C2 on console and it was absaloute B***CKS. If SCI had a brain they would come down here listen to what we have to say and do it. So now we have possiable break out of war agains them because they are thicker than dried cement. SCI WHAT GIVES?!!!!!!!!!

Sorry little carried away then, everyone on here has been looking forward to and waiting for Carma 4 and as soon as they say they are making it then they go and tell us "Oh yeah no PC version" WTF.

Sorry for the bad words in their Mods.

Maybe they know there is too much negative-will on the carmageddon/pc scene, or on the other hand, maybe they thought it was too obvious to mention that there was gonna be a pc one

lets face it, it would have be something really really special to get acknowledgement from 'the scene' (well excluding the hit-whore sites), and the console dont have as well founded communities to potentially influence people. It's no doubt easier all round for their marketing and accounts to not have to contend on a level field with the previous games.

...and the brand makes another move down.

although, as always, I'm open to waiting to see it first hand out of curiosity, so they have a chance, depisite the manner in which they deal with people.

same here kitteh.

simple rule for me; if my little sister could make up the name, i'm outta this (they may stick the game up their ..... )

any self respecting man would ignore games like; "carma 4 the ultimate bumpercars" (TUB for short)
