Sure not the source material but now that you've pointed this out to me, really hate to say it, but here much prefer my interpretation (more depth and symbolism with what peacemaker stands for and the easy parallel with pieces, steamroller, etc..). Never say never. I actually like the Piecemaker it looks like a solid block of 'fuck all 'o yall'.

The joke with the Splat Pack version is that it's driven by Moonchild, a hippie thus the saying 'make love not war' peace is the opposite of war, but 'Piece' refers to making pieces out of pedestrians, anyway yeah thats about enough of an explanation of the pun :P

Sure feel free to create any concepts, that'd be really awesome ^^. But for Piecemaker, it would be one of those more physics challenging models since it's suppose to work like one of the "death traps" in 'Next Car Game'. Could be very tricky to accomplish (here, unfortunatly, i wouldn't know the programming skill required).

I always try to envision the concepts in the game and try to make them fun to play with and/or "enjoyable" to look at. Piecemaker would surely make an impressive opponent. Like said it's aimed to be carma military; the baddest of the badasses :P To accentuate and build up that feeling, i imagined him with Missionary pulling it on the appropriate trailer. It would really add to the intrigue of Piecemaker : an already really super impressive, stunning and scary vehicle set with a dormant super monster. Once you start getting a little taste of the Missionary in your pumped up "cheat" Suppressor, you'll just start freaking out imagining what the monster Piecemaker would be like. Again, it's initially more seen as a near end of the game challenge as in "try to prevent Missionary to arrive at destination" and afterwards in a symbolic level a last boss fight with Piecemaker. It would also add to the "extra content" and "bonus" feel you'd get after becoming number one psycho on list then thinking taking out the "local douchebag dictator" (and his police escort) was the final boss. Finally, once you defeat all and win the game, driving either Piecemaker alone, Missionary alone or, even better, Missionary pulling Piecemaker, you'd really feel like god and omnipotent. Would also be a super special treat after a laborious effort... probably too much imagination, excitment and everything here lol but what a surprise and challenge it would be

Could probably go on with more explanations but like always, too much information kills the information. so, hope you got the point lol

New maps ideas and concepts :

@ Stainless : For the maps, it would be cool if you added the Ghost Recon "losing transmission" blurry effect trick to prevent players to go at the end of the map and see undone texturing/maping. And when the player goes too far, it would result in transmission lost and race is lost for exemple or simply a recover to track

(little detail but it would add to the "completeness" and continuity of the whole carma world/maps)

Other than that, again really love your work and how the game is progressing; that new update looks so promising and awesome. On the vehicles, you easily have some of the best, if not the best, art style in the industry right now. Your maps are well thought out, the variety of peds so unique, the damage system already superb, hell, the scope of the whole game itself is so ambitious...Really hope you'll get the recognition you rightfully deserve and maybe more important, that the sales of the game really pick up.

Location : Space shuttle launch site & the moon

Map name : Out of the jungle and beyond

Description : Two maps into one

- The jungle and space shuttle launch site wouldn't be such a big map : you start your race surrounded by trees and exotic peds (monkeys, warthogs, toucans,..), then near end of jungle, you can see high tech space shuttle launch site and huge aircraft carrier afar on the sea. Race then passes from a natural environment to a high tech environment with high tech peds (with also robots and proper drones here and there??). You can go up in Shuttle via elevator and then, after a quick countdown, from ten to liftoff (to get the player extremely excited even if realisation is buggy and glitchy), you're sent to the moon.

-The moon. Would be like Fatcat's map. would add a proper moon base in which you land. It would be with big glass dome (to make it "livable") which you can break with enough speed and momentum. Peds within a certain distance would be sucked out and die. You could then do your tourist on moon surface. With enough speed and with proper crater, you can break moon's gravity and send your vehicle in space oblivion

Location : Hell on Earth

Map name : Hell on Earth

Description : Hell on Earth, actually it would resolve around a huge volcanic eruption on an island.

You start the race on nice, peaceful, heavenly scenery looking directly at volcano and town/city at it's base. Then you see it blow the fuck up!!!

GIVE ME MY NEXT GEN MOMENT XD : huge debries, pyroclastic flow ravaging down the city, volcanic lightning, ash cloud, and lava spitting and dripping everywhere.

Here it would be the possible zombie level with demon like (and sexy demonesses) creatures bringing burnt and dead humans back to life as flaming slaves wanting to destroy our cars.

Demons are spitted from Volcano (and are actually aliens trying to conquer the world => do the parallel with the Kaiju films (Godzilla, Pacific Rim, ...))

Location : Bering Strait

Map Name : Highway to heaven

Description : The map would be built up a bit like a drag race type of map but much more impressive and carma style.

It'd be on the hypothetical bering strait crossing. Here, it'd be a bridge. Easy and simple map layout. Huge brigde but 3 levels. one on top for vehicles and daring peds, one underneath for trains on one for wire and alimentation.

Long bridge where we can go up or Inside the bridge. Possible to add a big mid distance station on island. It'd be natural but also mix modern/rustic(=> parallel with a few highway road stops).

Main features would be :

- the long bridge allowing insane speed in possible total whiteouts,

- the water traffic with ships, icebergs, ...

- the horrendous weather

Here different weather configurations possible for same map : beautiful sunny and a few clouds but with northen luminosity, night with beautiful auroras, and always (day or/and night) different nuances of fog : foggy, snowing, total whiteout ! (allowing full high speeding in total white blindness never knowing what may come ahead and thus being highway to heaven)

Location : a city with an at least 1 mile high tower

Map name : race track revamped

Description : A racetrack built around an at least 1 mile high tower.

Racetrack would be on land, artificial lake with huge fountains and therefor, on some sections, also in under water glass tunels. It'd be surrounded by other huge skyscrapers (see more on Downtown Dubai developpement at www.skyscrapercity.com). It'd amplify that constantly impressive feeling while racing around the mega man made structure.

Possibility to go in megatower and use glass elevators (to see inside tower & see mix of residential, leisure & commercial parts in tower => kill the lazy feel of not wanting to go that extra mile in details ..). Would stop mid height and then again possibility for another glass elevator to, here, directly go to the very top of tower and eventually allow player to jump off. Beautiful vast scenery before crashing down and dying (or opponents) unless properly equipped (parachute, jetpack, moon gravity p.up, inflatable air bubbles or foam bubbles). Here prime inspiration is from Burj Khalifa, Kingdom tower, Nakheel Tower, Dubai City Tower.

Some new vehicles ideas :

Vehicle : Steam Machine R

Driver : Half-Dead

Description : an hommage vehicle to Valve Corporation (might need their authorization though or/and their collaboration) with Steam allowing easier access of the game, and a little too to Torus Games for having tried to make the franchise live (and having impleted the super fighting back peds concept..).

Vehicle is a mix of original Steam Machine from TDR 2000 and Half-Life 2 buggy. It would be all rusted and Junk like. It would have steam coming out off it, have suspensions like the HL2 Buggy, blade wheels and stupid little weak rusted roll cage. It would also have losts of tubes, tanks and wires

Driver is half dead : mostly cyborg (one upper limb and from waist down) Would have a valve and two tanks were is dick usually is. More steam like cyborg actually than the usual terminator type cyborg

Vehicle : PCK (pun also on all the new Porsche acronyms)

Driver : Coke McKing

Description : An attempt to introduce the long forgotten extreme supercar by videogames, the Porsche 917 K. Here made it as a reference to Lemans the film (which even to this day is still great to watch by the way). Made the driver an obvious reference to Steve McQueen.

Being all set in the early 1970s i made their name a sort of pun on drug names to better keep the carma spirit

Vehicle : Heoweoaeioaera

Driver : Shri Colores (pun on Tricolore..)

Description : Originally thought of doing a Pagani Zonda (easily one of the best cars ever made and naturally, one of my alltime favorites) Tricolore with Cinque elements and modified for carma. In the end really happy i waited up till now to finally discover that the new Electric Blue is gonna be the Zonda + F40/F50 mix. (and like Nobby said on this week's Twitch, please do make the rear wheels larger, make it fiercer/badass and truly more Zonda / F50 worthy :P)

BTW kinda like the neon touch, seems to fit the character

Instead, being still not entirely bought by the Huayra, i decided to try and make it more ferocious. Added a few elements to make it more carmaworthy. Tried to make it look more like a shark with shark dorsal fin and shark tail.

Made the driver an indian girl or mid south asian girl (like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Burma,..). Special pop star like persona with special weird haircut matching the shark fin on roof

Post is a bit long there mr Blood Eagle but some nice ideas. I for one would also like to see a map with some weather hazards such as tornadoes and poor visibility.

I wanted to ask if you would let me model the Piecemaker?

Althought I will say it could have a different name, just so that it doesn't clash with the Splat Pack car. Any chance you can give me some more angles? I could draw some angles of my own as well if you don't mind:)

- Thanks. I really try to put less words and more pictures. But i feel sometimes things need to be a minimum explained so that the idea is correctly understood..

- As for the Piecemaker, how about "Peacemaker" lol. Nuance, i know, but not the same thing.. could help taunt the player. Or how about Adhibitus (=peacemaker in Latin..could eventually fit too)?

Will try thinking other possibilities.

- Finally for Missionary concept, sure i'd gladly draw you more sketches ^^ and feel free yourself to try but beware of details (like wheels size and width, overall length, etc..). Can make it look silly or too chunky rapidily (i know first hand..) and lose the "powerful" and "athletic" essence/feel i try to make have (even if it may be very subjective..). Would matter less for Peacemaker as design seems explicit enough

It would totally kick ass if you actually managed to properly (with working parts) do those two and even, why not, make them be playable as one (when Missionary is pulling Peacemaker on trailer). Maybe only me, but what an awesome sight it would make.

I ain't gonna play too much the neeedy type though, having you find interest in what i do is already great, so yeah, feel free to do whatever concept you want, you have my permission :)

sure, logically, but then might/could/will lose some of it's key features in reinterpretion process. but then again, it's art, nothing more subjective here and part of the magic :P

Without wanting to sound haughty, what good is a good joke if to truly get it you do need a minimum level of education?

I try to briefly show how i came to realise concepts, how i did my "equation". Like always, some may find it interesting, some just don't give a fuck

Nonetheless like says Chinese proverb "the palest ink is better than the best memory"

Noted your concern, i get it, really (not that i owe you anything though). i'll really try to be more concise, so thks too for feedback ;)

Cool stuff! If you've taken a look at any of my work you'll know that I try and stay as close to the concept as possible but sometimes things that look good in 2D don't translate too well into the 3D space or they look awkward so changes need to be made :)

So I'll see what I can come up with tonight, maybe I'll do a quick 3D blockout of the truck and put it next to stuff for size and proportion comparison. I'll post it up on my fan art thread so look out for that :)

yeah, i know, i follow all your stuff. Again, really impressive. Also reason why so "hyped" you like some of it too ^^.

For size of truck and secret tank concept, rather base your work on 2nd representation with vehicle set. A little bigger in size when compared to man but more fittting to what they'd be.

Will try to have sketches done by end of weekend

As for the truck, I want to say that compared the man it's just a little too big. Not that I want to make it smaller, but for logistical reasons I think it might be a good idea not to make it too large otherwise it won't be very fun to drive in the game as it would get stuck everywhere and that would just limit at least my enjoyment. I like the idea of large, beefy vehicles but I didn't so much like how they were in C2 for example, again not too fun to drive.

Vehicle : Pong

Driver : Mr. Panda and passenger Mr. Ping

Drescription : Made originally to depict the angry, hateful and despotic dictator type persona. Nonetheless, without proper context (like if it were the final boss of an eventual story mode where in the end, after dismantling his police escort and destroying his vehicle, you get to run him over and see he's just as meaty and fragile as any other peds(...)) and the lack of asian people in the series, i've made the driver, Mr Ping, a wealthy narcissic megalomaniac chinese psycho with his driver being a robot - in principle, more reliable and more obediant than humans - Mr. Panda (but actually turns out to be very suicidal and exhausted by his master).

Mr. Panda would be a cute cuddly bear type robot.

His car is the ultimate cult persona vehicle. Found inspiration in Red Skull vehicles (from Captain America series), the Zil concepts proposed as a Russian President vehicle, the Caddilac One limo and a few Chinese cars for the "wierd" design choices. Really big and tough. But would better fit a challenge mode than a proper normal race because of it's size.. Would really make something stunning and impressive to go against and would really be a blast to break it and make it look like a pile of junk. Tried play on words with Ping Pong.

When the carma police fails and is overwhelmed, send in the military lol.. probably alone on this one but "introducing" the next step in badassness (the way i see it, it would make sense since in real life, in huge emergencies, the authorities end up by sending in the military to face and solve the extreme problem at hand). Could make a good followup to CR 1. (still believe there could be a place for a cool faint neutral background story in carma mode that would allow even more madness without impacting on the core nor the construction of the game; after all, ain't carma a sort a parody of society? probably going too far here though :P (...))

Vehicles : The Missionary and The Creator

Drivers : Nintendork and Supremus Generalissimus Pope

Description : You thought you were invincible in your pumped up Suppressor? Think again kid, you're about to get owned.

The Missionary is envisionned as a very top end ultra expensive military road transporter project (do parallel with the Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit for exemple, nearly or more than 1 billion dollars the unit!). Designed to cope with and eventually, if emergency, deal with - at most - one or two suppressors but it's not its primary objective which is to bring VIP merchandises to a certain destination. Gave it ultimate power (why not, it's supposed to have top notch future tech) but "downside" is a huge increase in weight. Nonetheless, without trailer, could handle like a today's Porsche Cayenne Turbo S around a track and as fast, if not faster in a straight line. About the same level of defense to the suppressor's but has loads more power and a bit more offense. Weak spot would be on sides at high speeds and roof. immensely tough and nearly undestructible. Can be an unmanned or manned vehicle (like the actual tech they are developping at Oshkosh). But since it's huge, could also have everything you need to survive inside (bed, fridge, shower and toilet, satellite link 24h/24 7d/7,...)

Model based on the Oshkosh HET Global (really hardcore and the true alpha truck of trucks it would seem) but beefed it up quite a lot to try and make it the ultimate Apex road tractor transporter

For info, keys features are (to make it really different from Oshkosh and better fitted for carma event) :


- front of chassis ending in gladius more or less style (better penetration of plating) and BIG bull bar being attached on it (via screwed bar going through bull bar (really love your lower interpretation but would eventually make it go higher for better protection of engine))


- side air vents (=> BIG engine, bullbar obstacle, aggressiveness)


- HUGE exhaust stacks (you really nailed down the height originally envisionned but not fond of the ending)


- 10 Wheeler : doubled the wheels at the rear to really make it more impressive ( honestly i found the original already extremely impressive ; liked the "monster truck" approach and tried to magnify that feature in order to make it that much more carma worthy)


- totally flat front bonet (amplify the hammer feeling, but less important here)


- end of chassis reinforced in case there is a need to go backwards. Again, like front, made to crush more easily and prevent any obstacles to slow down the truck's pace and arriving at destination


- Size DOES matter but here lol because on gameplay, i actually totally agree with you (just me fantasising which you figured out quickly :P)

truck detailed sketches : keep it mind the charactor's like a boot and everything else going against it is like an ant (nice image borrowed from The Avengers movie). Justified its "overpoweredness" by the fact it naturally won't come after you. It's like a Terminator : you don't cross its pass and you live. you want to stop it fulfilling its mission and you die.

Talking of "over complicating" things, i think i've surpassed myself on this one :/ (...). Nonetheless will try to expose all as simply as possible even if not entirely satisfied with my sketches..

Nothing too original at first sight but really play on lines on emphasize on agressiveness



=> the engine :


Totally redesigned it. Went for an X structure. Apparently it has already been done espacially for some older military vehicles. Added 20 turbos in order to have 1 turbo for 5 cylinders. End result would amount to ULTIMATE power lol : 100 000 Hp + 20 000 electric power.


Redesign & huge increased because of three reasons :

-- Today's existing Top Fuel dragsters' super beefed up engines produce already more or less 10 000 hp

-- It's future super top notch utra expensive prototype tech

-- Tried to have as much as possible power-to-weight ratio close to 1 (in order to make it a bit more believable for it to have lastest Porsche Cayenne Turbo S performance around a track (when without trailer).


Also huge torque for ultimate traction power (but extremely well executed preventing it to always do burnouts)





Tried also to find inspiration from the Bugatti Veyron Quad Turbo W16 :

=> the chassis and bull bar connection to chassis :


4 Parts for chassis structure : parts 1 and 2 would definitely be welded together for better rigidity and overall strengh

Again insipired a bit from Tatra rigid central "backbone" tube chassis


=> the suspensions :


mainly a mix of the Tatra suspension system mentionned above and more traditionnal MacPherson suspension structure. Suspension system would probably be using Magnetorheological dampers




For the rear suspensions, tried an "X design" but seemed too complicated. So i rather went for more traditionnal bras tiré suspensions (see also http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Automotive_suspension_technologies for more info if interested)


Or, to make it a lot more easier to mod just recycle some of the Plow's features and adapt it a little. Once again, hands down to Stainless on this part. Limit pure genious in its "simpleness" exection :P . Really astounding job there


=> the interior :


Would all be encompassed in anti-EMP tech


2 compartments :

-- driving -> ultra modern and clean (tablets and smart phones like: see also Porsche 918 spyder center console). All Digital


-- living -> huge use of ergonomics. Fully autonomous.

The Piecemaker (obvious pun with peacemaker) A.K.A The Inquisitor A.K.A The Creator Designed to kill as instantly as possible any foe in its way, it chews suppresors for breakfast. A whole vehicle goes in, only bits come out. Made also as a pun to 'Next Car Game' in the way where in the test tech level, you see an entire car go through "mining" cylinders and coming out as nothing lol. Here it would be same principle but better since it'd actually be moving and could be driveable. It would have eight "cylinders of death". Could also be a "proper" (and carma worthy?) alternative design type for THE Suppresor destroyer (and therefor all other vehicles) : instead of going in a cat and mouse chase game, its purpose is to make sure that there is no "race" or "event" to begin with.. Again very ultra top end military hardware, very secretative too. For style, "particular" and distinctive look, made it have a huge "steamroller" like wheel at the back which would make sure you stay dead once there is nothing left of your vehicle.

Regarding it's name, another suitable one for it would be "The Creator" (because its creates junk out of beautiful vehicles or whatever you put in it. I feel it could still have this carma humour while, at the same time, still be refering to the divine like and thus melting perfectly with the initial profile) So it could come down to "The Inquisitor" or "The Creator" (not that it fundamentally matters ...)


=> First sketch depics :


-- tracks with engine inside and Christie type suspensions outside (with more or less MacPherson type suspensions for smaller "wheels" inside) and heavy plating over it all. Connection to "main box chassis" would be done by protective engine box inside track. Might do better sketch for connection of tracks to "boxed chassis structure" or whatever it's called)


-- rear huge steamroller wheel suspension


-- "mining" cylinders mechanism


All have autonomous ultra high tech and utlimatly powerful electrical engines. In other words, it's a full 3x3 regarding tracks/wheels and full 8x8 regarding inside cylinders

I made this post quite long (i know and hope it ain't too annoying to read) because i kind of hope Stainless will implement tractor trailers in the game. Here such vehicles could be fought in special challenge events or special maps designed primarily to allow humongous vehicles to race against smaller "normal" vehicles. IMPLEMENTING TRACTOR TRAILORS (like in GTA, Driver, Euro Simulator,..) and boosting it to a carma level would simply allow to see the MOST TRULY SUBLIME, STUNNING, IMPRESSIVE AND EXTRAORDINARY VEHICLE SETS EVER SEEN in a game, in a movie or even in real life. It would be a little like piloting your own 1km long ship as it's planned in Star Citizen ; only here we'd be able to destroy everything lol.. Sure would probably ask another enormous amount of work though, but including the tech (usable also for future titles), if possible, would definitely really make the game that much more awesome. It would also very much fit the carma mentality in a way : huge machines doing havoc and bringing Armageddon thus being total carmageddon.. would totally be astonishingly awesome to drive such monsters :P

Nintendork could be a supergeek excelling in particular in videogames and driving at distance (when necessary to be man driven) Would use Virtual Reality hardware and always seem to have Occulus Rift goggles on.

Supremus Generalissimus Pope would propably be a more controversial character. Logically THE high end military commander and to emphasize on that i added the latin word supremus (=supreme) to the proposed "ultimate" military rank generalissimo (also parody on the will to try to find the most honorific title in some cases). Here, he would be like the special chief of all world armies. Kept his title latin to go better with the profile. His name pope would mainly be seen as a pun to the guy that actually condamned Carmageddon when it came out. Here he could be seen as a distant relative still acting actively against carma. Made him the good guy though, after all we're a pack of murdering pricks in the game lol. Also to accentuate the importance of the character made him the man commissionned by the three main religions, as a symbol of all the world's "good" values. Nonetheless to try to keep the carma spirit, tried to make his look be more of a parody. Would be very secretative dude, man of last resort, empowered by all the proeminent authorities and acting for the sake of "civilized" world to prevent total chaos :P

Description : Aero car and Aero Truck are made to have the best air penetration designs. Nonetheless because of a design flaw in Aero truck and the important turbulent wake it generates, Aero car is easily prone to wheelings when behind Aero truck (obvious dick joke there for those who won't get it)

Mr. Mouse and Mrs Pussycat (initially thought of Mr Stallion and Mrs. Pig but seemed much funnier with mouse and cat) are circus robots (explaining their childish and human friendly look) applying their programs to the letter : the cat and mouse game and therefor carma is for them the perfect event. Simply instead of having the cat chase the mouse, it's the mouse chasing the cat. Meant to be an ANALogy to the Tom & Jerry cartoons (...)

Other than that, here are two quick doodles of new opponents :

Vehicle : Combinator

Driver : Dicky Pepper Bob

Description : My reinterpretation of the Harvester from C2 . Was clearly influenced here by Mad_Maxine's awesome job on trying to reimagine this weird and unusual character. Thought it would be fun and challenging to also try to add more crazyness to the original design and actually ended up with what could be another new character. (Now we only need 3 more crazy combine harvester visions and we'll be all good to start hoping for an all combine event in a corn field :P)

My main inspiration for the vehicle was obviously the New Holland CR 9090 with a subtle mix of a typical Star Trek's Starfleet starship.

Nonetheless, still rather prefer Maxine's interpretation; seems to me it'd have better carma spirit than mine which looks too much like the New Holland combine

For driver tried a mix of cliché hillbilly and ghetto gangsta rapper style (he's a gangta' wannabe)

Description : Monkey Doodle went to town riding in his poney, everytime he turned around he fucked a naked lady.. (tried a joke with Yankee Doodle song..)

Driver is a big fat Orang Outan smoking weed and wearing some sort of weird design helmet. Tried to mix it with a touch of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas to add some more humour and depth to the character

Car, without too much originality is based on the Ford Mustang

For second concept, just a big orang outan driving a car (sometimes Carmageddon feels like playing a Mario Kart for adults) while smoking and wearing "funny" clothes . At the back is his passenger, a hot naked lady.

The way i see it, peds seem to be more or less normal everyday people while drivers and eventual passengers are more, for most of them, crazy partying psychos (a little bit like gumballers). Nudity in peds therefor feels a little odd depending on how it's implemented but in drivers/passengers, it would help to reveal a bit more their twisted personality. Just question of opinion here.


For the car, simply tried to make it more muscular to cope better with the american muscle car theme (even if i made it a cab) and huge dynamic rear wing would slice peds up.

Totally off topic, thought of an idea for Multiplayer but don't know how much more work it would ask :
How about a driver configurator to create your own "unique" avatar while playing online and to prevent having the situation where 10 Max Damage face off each other?

Even if done very simply (for exemple, choose eyes, nose, mouth, hair, color, body, accesories, etc..amongst the already existing peds), it could be a nice feature.

Here are some new opponents : tried to be innovative and, in some way, show what carma permits by expanding furthermore the universe. The game's setting allows so much possibilities; really, from an artistic point of view, imagination would be the only restriction even if some designs might then be extremely challenging to program in game

more classic type opponent :

Vehicle : Cabana (pun with Copacabana)

Driver : Red Mamba (pun with samba)

Description : All in the bling and nothing in the heart.

Vehicle would depict the traditionnal indian truck. Here all the "joke" would be when you upgrade the truck : the more upgrades you do, the more bling you get and it would actually make the truck drive from bad to worse; the more you upgrade it, the least performance it gets => inversed curve regarding the upgrades

The driver would be like a Brazilian carnival exotic dancer. She would be like the mambas. She's preying on men and turning them into her naked sex slaves (to eventually balance the nudity lol). She'd make their mind go nuts over her and break their hearts (little parallel with effects of mamba venoms) Her slaves would be stacked in cages in the truck.

Going into uncharted territory (using an already introduced very special ped)

Vehicle : W.T.F as for World Terraforming Fregat

Driver : EBE

Description : Very crucial and KEY character openning new doors and allowing new kinds of crazyness (unfortunatly, it would give that logical explanation and therefor, it could take away that wtf feeling you sometimes get in the game)

Greys are the workers, and a special E.B.E would at some point drive the vehicle. It (EBE) would be like the local sub planet chief operator. Once you find the secret location ,run over a few greys and provoc total panic, you'd start chasing it. It would be like the cops : not indicated on any map and would act like an "independant" A.I

It would have a special costume allowing it to not succomb to the space radiations, and it's costume would protect it from new environments by adapting to them. It would be very tall

The vehicle would be very "organic like" engineered, like if there are no transitions. Extremely advanced. Apperently bland design but it would definetly make up for it by the way it handles.

Main features would be :

=> It would always have on 4 (at least those 4) p.UPs (and thus making it a pur WTF moment)

- electro bastard rays p.UP

- hot rod p.UP

- Megaturbo (ultraturbo?) p.UP

- wallclimbing p.UP

=> it'd have weird tank tracks (bean shaped)

=> beautiful lights

=> can be totally destroyed

=> can climb anything (allows new truly vertical experiences)

=> easily ++++ 1000 mph

=> can create interdimensional fractures : when you finally do get to kill him (probably through help of some p.Ups), just before dying he creates an interdimensional gate intended for his escape. You then have the chance to adventure yourself Inside

Alter dimensional opponents. Here, it's THE innovation (weird nobody made it really work before) => add orcs, elfs, wizards/mages, ogres and other B.A.Ms, etc .. from traditional medieval fantastic RPGs (enough with the lack of originality already !!! time to bring modernity to them). Thought of a possible link with the Warhammer and Warcraft vehicles/ universe.

It would go something like this : the first time you go in the interdimensional "portal", you end up in the traditional medieval fantastic world (think of skyrim villages or any other related RPG). Totally taken by surprise (like when the conquistadors landed in South America), those new peds are easily and totally overwhelmed. At this stage, that new ultra secret level mainly serves as a fun "bonus" level where you run over giants, wizards, orcs doing war with elfs, etc..

Afterwards, near half end of the game, you can (if you find the secret again) manage to go through the portal once more. This time, about 500 years have passed in their world since your first encounter and now, these alterdimensional beings are all industrialized. This brings me to those new opponents (always with totally weird design choices and nothing like anything seen on Earth before)

=> regarding the dwarfs : tough, sturdy, mechanically more Advanced, precious stones (do parallel with Minecraft)

Had some real difficulties trying to find something that holds. Tried mainly to find inspiration in the Dwemers from Elders Scrolls. Would still seem to go in conflict with Annihilator and Project X

Vehicle : Gearhead

Driver : Spyder

Description : Mainly steam technology, lots of gears, heavy plating, no protection for driver?



=> The orcs & ogres : brutal, heavy, powerful

tried to find inspiration in the Warhammer and Warcraft vehicles

Vehicle : Deathmeister

Driver : the Terrifying General Kah-Nobby (pun with Star Wars)

Description : Psycho Pitbull's alter dimensional counterpart. He would come with a wolf beast monster like the orcs in the Lord of the Rings/ the Hobbit franchise

Description : made to look deadly and scary, this unit transporter is destined for inflitration and disembarkments

Lots of wheels and tracks : made to be intriguing to look at, captivating to see work and tried to emphasize really on the awe factor



=> The elfs : quick, nimble, stealthy and precise

Vehicle : the Leaf

Driver : the Squirrel

Description :

- vehicle which could have a device that'd give it full invisibilty shield.

- Body of vehicle would be like if it's wearing a semi invisible cloak.

- Front would have a full plating with bull bar looking like antlers.

- It would be full eco friendly, electrical power.

- Finally, it would have the new soft, terrain adapting wheels (to make it almost noiseless): if possible, it would be using an equivalent of the tyre tech in order to generate full bendable wheels

Here, made it with another doodle of the Doom Wagon



=> The Douggies/Gerbils/Hamsters/.. : made to be the usual cute pet like race that we usually find in JRPGs or the animal race (like the Khajit and Argonians in the Elder Scrolls).

Small but fierce, vicious, labourers and heroic (do parallel with Lemmiwinks & Wikileaks)

Vehicle : The Almighty Reformator

Driver : King Douglas The Intrepid

Description : a yacht like multi aircraft carrier tank using gerbil/hamster powered turbines. It uses gerbil/hamster wheels in the tank track, which are motorized by royal labourers. It is set to conquer the universe

Again, using the interdimensional extraterrestrial beings (rather the Magnuchem failed experiment scenario which allows less possibilities), here's a new possible Carma parallel universe/dimension : the animal like characters, furry world (with also new unique vehicles).

Concept itself is not new but really think the idea is great & just allows so much violence & obscenities than typical human world. It seems it's less controversial for society to have "monster" like creatures doing monster like stuff rather than realistic humans doing it. Also from an artistic point of view, it really opens up that much more the carma universe with fun parodies (at least i think they can be pretty fun such as pigeons in the streets, cougars, bulls, bears, weazels, pigs, gorillas, vultures, etc....)

It could also open the carma franchise to other possible titles and interesting conflicts (again personnal opinion there). Still, it's just fan art so why not :P

Only two concepts right now; will try to add more sketches hopefully sooner than later

@Tipsy : love your montages; they really tend to bring a special "realistic" flavor to these very conceptual sketches and, in the end, are far closer to the original CR concept art than my fan art lol.

=> For your revisited Froggynou concept, i much prefer the "Porsche like" ducktail spoiler you've chosen to my original design. It just feels more suited to that type of car.


For the Ford Country Squire Wagon as a new basis for Froggynou, i feel you'd then have to actually find a new name for the concept. Here, i tried to make a character using & reimagining a classic French car and add self-derision to it with the name. Also, the original Citroën DS - on which Froggynou is based on - isn't quite what one could call a proper Station Wagon. To keep the spirit of Froggynou, you'd then have to try and base the concept on another French car.

That Ford is really stunning and beautiful though as a woody car. A real classic. Maybe it deserves to be it's own model; after all, there are so many possibilities for new characters :P In such a case, i'd really love to see what you come up with then.


=> Finally, regarding the Rig O'Mortis 2nd concept, really happy to know you like it :) . This one was very tricky to do actually.

The Pope was really seen as an ultimate pun; he'd only show up at the very end as a hidden last boss IF, during the game, you run over a few nuns. All in all, he was fun to draw

@ lemonrev : love your continuous enthusiasm lol. And yes (i don't know if i understand you correctly), those furry concepts were borrowed from an idea initialy by Maxine (unfortunately, couldn't find a doodle to link it right back at her work and properly give her the credit for the inspiration). Still, really love that take on the carmageddon universe and that even more so because in today's gaming market, such universe is nearly absent.

Again, so many new puns & jokes can be made. Moreover, you could even choose to make that universe darker & grittier; you know, maybe go more into depth and have it tackle more "serious" and "adult" themes while still keeping some of the humor (doing, in my mind, a parallel with what some call the "golden age" of animes from the 80s)

@ Tipsy : thanks again for your fan art, it was once again pretty awesome from what i remember but i wouldn't have distorted the perspective on the rear wheels and would have kept them as they show in real life (the distorsion appearing in some of my pics is mainly the result of me doodly quickly a first concept then, sometimes, not bothering/forgetting to correct those little mistakes :/ => i guess that's mainly where you see sometimes my perspective is a bit off). Too bad your Fan Art doesn't show anymore though. Really appreciated those too

Yo, here is another set of possible concepts/ characters

Vehicle : The Buzzard (same spirit as The Hawk & The Eagle)

Driver : See Cure in Tea (??) (Bad pun with security..)

Description : The Buzzard is envisionned as the entry level vehicle from the manufacturer building The Hawk & The Eagle. Here - like Lamborghini who names all its cars afters bulls or Pagani who names its cars after winds - i envisionned the manufacturer of the Eagle & the Hawk as naming its cars after birds of preys/raptors.

Really tried to keep the spirit of the first two cars while still being quite different. Added moveable rear wings, blade, big engine, carbon parts, weird exhausts (here mainly found inspiration in TVR Sagaris). The Eagle being red and The Hawk being yellow, i envisionned this car more as being orange.

Here, one of the main features of the car would be it's engine noise : it would have a particular "buzzing sound" & thus also explaining its name. It start with a normal tonality buzz sound then, the higher you go in revs, the higher the tonality gets and then , when you change gears, you have and hear a big resonating low tonality explosion with big flames coming out of the exhausts caused by back-fire.

Finally for the driver, i guess he should be as charismatic as - and most of all have a name just as catchy as - Max Damage & Die Anna. Went here rather for the small car/ huge security guy cliché

Driver : possible vehicle used by MagNuChem high end executive members such as founder(s)/CEO & Chairman/President/COO/CFO ....

Description : Here, vehicle is actually more seen as a possible drone than an actual opponent. Wondered also who was in charge of MagNuChem and therefor this concept can also be seen as attempt to get a little hint on that mysterious ped :P . This concept was obviously inspired by the Maybach 62 and also by this dude's TOTALLY AWESOME ultra luxury yacht like Bentley concept (maybe just me but we'd really need to get his stunning & terrifying concept in a game at one point => also main reason why i made this concept/character in the first place)

Drivers : a surfer couple with beachwear

Description : The concept is meant to depict the weird crossovers we sometimes have today. Here i went for a mix of pickup/classic car/beach buggy/convertible. It'd have a special luminescent like paint.

Drivers would be a bit the "flower power" type (hence the flower looking weapon on front rims) & "cool" attitude

Driver : Mr. Beautiful ( pun with Mr. Universe)

Description : A Hummer H1 wagon like and the Terradyne Armored Vehicles Inc. GURKHA (as seen in the Fast & Furious Franchise). Tried to depict the bodybuilder coach/star/athlete image with his huge 4x4

Driver : Random normal guy/gal/cyborg/robot

Description : more done as another possible futuristic like drone than an actual opponent. Here main feature of the truck would be :

- its front lights

- its side exhauts (maybe)

- the fact it as wheels at the front and that the usual duallly rear wheels are replaced by tracks

Driver : Ash Burner

Description : Made to be an obvious reference to volcanos. One particular noticeable aspect of the vehicle would be its color configuration :

- Ash gray paint on body

- Black magma rock on wheels

- Magma orange engine

- Magma orange neons in engine compartement (to make it glow like real magma => parallel with neons used on new Electric Blue)

Grayish volcano like smoke coming out of exhausts

Driver would maybe be a mix of Kratos (from God of War franchise) and Humungus (from Mad Max 2 : the Road Warrior)

He could have smoke coming out of his mask's eye sockets

Vehicle : Metal Slug or Death Warrant

Driver : Steve (pun with Minecraft default character)

Description : Really made as a tease/poke :P. A super huge, gargantuan & ultra beefed up all-terrain mobile crane made to be, hopefully, carma worthy. Exageration of size of crane, number of wheels, and width (to compensate number of wheels while, still trying to make the concept more or less believable as a possible future real life vehicle). Extremely massive and powerful but it'd also be pretty slow.

Driver would be like a pro master builder but still trying to figure out if a skinny little human or a robot/cyborg.

I would like to take a look at your fan art, I really would, but the giant pictures are really not necessary dude, scale them down instead of throwing them from your camera straight to the web, not all of use have fast broadband. Second thing is explanation, there's way too much of it, let the art speak for itself. The whole point of successful concept art is you communicating your idea through the art and not long winded sentences. Most people won't care where the influences of your artwork come from, if the influence is obvious there's no need to explain it. One other nitpick is not everything needs to have a pun attached to it, it seems forced, especially when you're constantly explaining your puns in parentheses.

Two new furry like concepts.

  • Patrick's/Vlad's yak like furry dimension counterpart : Vlad looking a little like a viking dwarf, my main inspirations were the CR original concepts & The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings franchise (for the precious stones and metals)

Not a fan of furries myself but I do quite like that Countslash, its got some nice proportions :) keep it up dude, and also welcome back after a while ;)
