Can't see it running the GOG version, WP isn't quite that pick up and play! The new WP8 however is considerably easier to dev for however which is why we're starting to see more apps make their way across to WP thankfully. Admittedly cant see it happening with Carmageddon though, was more just a light tease question on my behalf. :pJimothey wrote:-snip-

Windows Phone is as much like Windows as iOS is like OSX. Realistically it shouldn't be as difficult to make a WP8 version of it as the Android version, though, as WP8's graphics API is DX11 (though only feature level 9_3) and supports pure C++. Still a shit ton of work, though, and while I would love to have it on my Lumia 920 I would prefer the development resources required for it stay focussed on Reincarnation.Jimothey wrote:Don't say that. It's taken them long enough to get the Android port out. how long would it take on windows Phone?. oh, maybe it'll run the GOG version, have you tried that? Does it run pretty much the same as Windows Desktop?

Great to see the Android version is finished, though.

Pretty sure it was just sarcasm, not quite sure why it was handled so seriously...

I could swear there was a list somewhere... But hey, you can always check out the video on the main page.

It is kinda incredible to think when I first played Carmageddon all them years ago I had a Pentium 166mhz PC that just about run the original. Yet here we are now our hair is greyer but to compensate we can play Carmageddon on these wafer thin tablets (ok it is a very thick wafer).
Many thanks to the team at Stainless. I had loads of fun following and supporting the kickstarter and had loads of fun with the GOG version of Carmageddon and now I am gonna have loads of fun again with Carmageddon on my phone and tablet.

It seems your workaround is to put up a free version of the full version for 24 hours, the PROMO app, and then take it down?
So that means those who get the promo version will never be able to redownload it or get patched? Sounds awesome.

haha! that means then the release date might get pushed back to fix that problem.TheChrisGlass wrote:The Google Play Market doesn't allow changing a free app to paid. I think it is possible to hide the free version of the app so that no new "purchases" can be made, yet those who already own the game can see it in their collection. Stainless will just have to update both the promo and the paid version on Play Store.TheChrisGlass wrote:The Google Play Market doesn't allow changing a free app to paid. Still, it's much more complicated than simply being able to change a free app to paid and vice versa.

Hardware wise the Kindle Fire should be able to handle the game, however the game will be released through Google's Play store which the Fire doesn't have access to as far as I'm aware. Stainless would have to release it through Amazon's Appstore. I guess if you have an Android phone you might be able to grab it on that and then side-load the game onto the fire? I'm assuming that also works with the BlackBerry Z10 as it has an Android compatibility layer.starbuck wrote:I am glad for all you people that can play it so thank Stainless for that.I understand it is only opinions but do any of you think it will be available (i mean actually WORK ) for the Kindle Fire ?

Off topic: Is your name a reference to Battlestar Galactica? If so, totally awesome. My old housemate called his cat Starbuck after the character in the (re-imagined) show.

Surely there must be some pun with "Android" and anything related to solar eclipses, hmm...
...Also, what does 9gag have to do with it?
