Hi,

Android 4+ has native gamepad support. Will you support it?

It would be VERY cool if we could steer with one analog while looking around with the other.

If not, there's always the sixaxis app in the play store. But it's less convenient..

This will be great for those of us who intend to plug into HDMI TV to play on our couches. How awesome is that!?

At least on my Note 2, trying to use the gamepad blocks all input and eventually force-closes Carmageddon. Maybe this will be fixed later on. However we will have to buy it in order to get the update... I don't mind, but your opinions may differ.

Yeah, same here on my Nexus, looks like gamepads are not currently supported. Maybe in a future update hopefully...

Yeah, i was glad to see "customize controls" option, but when i plug a keyboard to my Asus TF101 and dropped to that option, i realize, that only key position on the screen can be customized (((

Hey all, thanks for your comments and suggestions on Game Pad support. Future updates are being planned, to include support for an ever-widening range of phones, tablets and input devices.

Shane, it would be great if you could release a beta-version this time around, which is really the only way to test with all combinations of device and gamepad. There's already a free version of Carma which would be perfect for testing and would free you from worrying about how to do this with Google Play... you could simply post a link to the plain APK without having to worry about piracy, since it's the free version anyway.

Glad to hear this. I own a Mini Android PC, those small devices you connect directly to TV and use with keyboard/mouse. It obviously doesn't have touchscreen, anyway as the hardcore Carma lover I am, I downloaded the free game anyway and played it with mouse (pressing one control at time, hard but not impossible!!) and it runs smooth and looks really good on a BIG tv screen.

So I can't wait you release gamepad or keyboard support in order to play properly on my device!

Keep up the good work!!!

Great, we got controller support. But just xperia ones :( What about bluetooth controller? I tried it, but most buttons only reacts as "back/close" button. so i cant start a game... please add support for bluetooth gamepad devices, too.

I just picked a bluetooth Gamepad controller for Android, it's a Moga Pro Power unit:
http://www.mogaanywhere.com/controllers/propower

Fantastic Gamepad, playing well with a lot of supported games.

It also has a HID mode for games that can accept input from HID devices, then you can program your pad.

If it's native, it works right away.

Carmageddon was one of my favourite games back in the 90's, I got it right away (full paid version) and it is fun using the touch screen but I would love to use a controller.

I also have a MHL adaptor that works with my HTC One, so unless I can use this game with a controller I can't play it on my 50" TV!!

I've read on this forum that it's been on the cards since May 2013, is there any progress or updates?

Is there any news at all?

I do not have the xperia play and any workaround possibilities requires a rooted phone, which voids any warranty.

We would love to bring more game pad support to our mobile version of Carmageddon but unfortunately all our focus at present is on the development of Carmageddon: Reincarnation. The same goes for an Ouya version. We'd love to get the game out on as many platforms as possible and reach as many fans as we can but Reincarnation remains our main priority at present.
