I still can't find specific textures myself even if I go on a google spree...

Or maybe I haven't google searched enough...

Cool, an old Russian truck!

It's looking nice! I see its already got some detail.

(Those are pics from CarEd, so they would look a bit pixely.)

Im still a newbie regardles Ive had almost 3 years of experiance

with carED, and I just want to know,

Does the java engine carED uses,

Is it really just an enhanced version of software based rendering?

instead of openGL or directX?

(oh wait...) its really directx that does the "pixely" rendering right?

Only the wood side panels and the rear bumper look a little pixelated.

All the rest look good to me. Those are really detailed hooks on the front bumper!

Good stuff, should be an interesting killing machine.

Judging by the licence plate, it's from the Tver Oblast (69)

Oooh i dig the hooks on the front bumper

Anyway it looks pixelated in CarEd and not in C2, i think both in OpenGL and DirectX, where DirectX is actually preferred to run CarEd with.

I have to admit, I really like it. Would be awesome to have those objects in the trunk fall of the car after it's damaged, I'm really glad it's set to detachable. I know Autopilot would make killer effects on his cars. That dude was really great at WAM parameters editing.

Anyhow, good ol' low poly Cared work right there. I'm impressed.

I dig that firetruck there, but i'm thinking that red is too bright, age it and make it dirty (like scrapted off paint and dirt like the windows) and it'll be grand.

Ya, I agree, more dirt/rust. Looks very cool.

Minor suggestion on the tire tread; they seem overly large,

if you just take your 64 x 64 tiff and make it 64 x 128 by

stacking two on top of each other. I think they'd look even better

Gotta admit I kinda like the looks of this thing, might make a fun deadly opponent to have riding around.

The front kinda looks weird to me though, try putting some shade on the very top of the grill part where the hood meets it so that shade line going around from the sides will be in unison. Also the bottom of the same grill section looks like its kinda curving upwards.. heres a photo, not big deals overall really, but the little things make someething good, so you can take that with a grain of salt as they say. see attatchment!

That sucks. The same thing just happened to me too, the other day. Luckily I was pretty much done with my APC and only had paperwork left to do. But I wanted to go back and get the coords for the BBox and stuff and the f-ing CarEd file was 0kb.

Please finish the Russian military truck, pretty please? Make a backup tho, before you start working on it

With CarEd, this happened to me too. Though i learned it like you two; the hard way, i then always saved it two times. So if one fucked up i always had a backup. Granted it ain't great to loose work, but come on just don't quit just because of that. :investigate:

I'm no stranger to that, car ed was notorious for freezing up on my old toshiba laptop. It would always happen when the fan would turn on too, wish it was possible to switch the fan on so it would be running all the time on laptops. Had to remake both parts of models during freezes and even entire models, sometimes multiple times due to the computer freezing during a work save.

Reason I ain't making anything these days cause my current computer is even worse, its pretty much guaranteed to freeze at least 5 times a day regarldess of what im doing. I have another more stable one with a busted screen, Im still waiting to find a monitor on the curb that works I can use with it.

I always make backups. I have something like 8 backed up files of Grungebuster, actually 9 now since I have it stored on another computer as well.

But I must admit that I haven't encounterd any problems with cared in the ways of "crashing", even though the readme html said its sure to happen.

Amazing Maxy! I'm saving to buy myself some new parts for my PC. Soon as it's built I'll be installing those! Do they run separately from each other? I'd love to have a few different versions of that hunting me down in the Bruise Brothers mission!

Thanks!
