I have a question about free 3D modelling soft「Wings 3D」.
I began to use it to make car models.
The reason why I chose this soft is that it can export models as .OBJ file.
First, I tried making simple model such as box.
Next, I tried exporting file. File was exported correctly, but CarEd don't import it
and showed this message in DOS window [Unknown data block:(File Size)] .
Does anyone know what to do?

Re: Question About 3D Model
Hmm...As far as I'm aware, CarEd's OBJ file format is unique and not the same as the standard Wavefront OBJ type...other than sharing the same extension. I'm not sure what to suggest, But can Wings 3D export ASC files? If so, (or if you can get your model in that format by a 3d file converter), CarEd should be able to support it.
Though I've found that some ASC files don't seem to open correctly in CarEd...but they always work in Plaything2. So another possible solution could be to import that ASC in Plaything2, and then save it as an SDF (which, in turn, will create a DAT file as well...which will certainly work in CarEd)
I guess that's alot of "messing around", but it does work...
Also, CarEd can also import 3ds files, if I'm not mistaken?
I hope this is of some use to you! ^_^

Re: Question About 3D Model
Sorry, I meant that as a reply to Nuclear's question.
I should really be more careful..!

Re: Question About 3D Model
Thanks.
I checked if CarEd can import 3ds and I found it can't import.
3D wings can't export as ASC, but can export as 3ds, fbx, eps, obj, rwx and wrl.
Do you know any tools which can convert from these types to CarEd's obj?

Re: Question About 3D Model
I found the free 3D modelling soft and converter!
So I can make more technicaly model.
However, I need training. Because, when I import
the model in cared, always it become too big to treat.
Thank you for your replies.
