Adding custom songs to Carmageddon 2

I like the soundtrack (Iron Maiden rules), but I'm getting tired of listening to the same 8 tracks. Is there a way to add my own music (i.e. other metal albums) to the game?

To my knowledge, the Sound ID's from 9600 to 9618 in the SOUND.TXT are the scripts for in-game music. But I don't know how do add custom music without doing what GOG does (XP-Vista patch and a .CUE file mounting ripped MP3s)...

If you're talking about the GOG version all you really need to do is replace the .ogg files in the MUSIC folder with your own replacement.ogg

Use a free audio program like Audacity to convert .mp3 and .wav to .ogg

But you must keep same naming - Track02.ogg, Track03.ogg, Track04.ogg.....

I tried it and it works. But must be OGG and must keep same names.
