They're all the same relative size as in the original carmageddon 2

OMFG!!! (too excited) where can i get those Errol?? and what program did u use to convert/import
those cars into Unreal Tournament 2004 (i assume) next textures btw also, since u probbly know
how to extract models as well is there anyway you could send me the scorpion? (little buggy)

Hehe, there's not really a public beta at the moment as it's only been in developement for a few weeks. Converting the cars is simply a case of using dat23ds on the dat file, retexturing the vehicle in maya, rigging it with the required bones and skin settings, exporting to UnrealEd and then setting up some code classes. Easy.
Unfortunately I don't think you can export UT2004 vehicles tho', so i don't think I could get you the buggy. Sorry dude.
I'll keep you chaps informed as to where this mod is up to and when there's a proper website for it you can just check there.
In the meantime, I heard someone did some super sweet high resolution textures for a bunch of the C2 cars, is this the case? And if so, who... I needs to talk about "stealing" them

I would like to convert some of the third party cars but it won't be for awhile. I still haven't finished the original line-up (check here for the currently ported vehicles )
At the moment it's the mapping that's causing the major problems. I just can't use UnrealEd with enough skill to recreate the C2 maps. For the airport I've managed to port across all the buildings as static meshes so if someone wants to give making the actual base map, I can add all the noncars and buildings and stuff. Drop by #carmageddon on irc.slashnet.org and yell at me.
Beyond that tho', the base ped code is in place. Bots will follow a course and go through checkpoints in the right order. Repair and recover code is in place. A fair few powerups work, mainly the ones I liked I started work on a recreation of the HUD last night, should be completely implemented by tomorrow.
Oh, one bit of good news. I should be able to do articulated vehicles. If anyone has a nice model that could do with articulation could they drop me a line? I'd like to have a play with that.

Do i need to texture it too? (please say no) lol i mean, the trailer itself i can do, but the wheels...there the same as the back ones from the truck..and since you convert it over to another file, it textures loses, right?

It loses the texture but retains the actual mapping. I don't really think I have time to completely map a vehicle from scratch so I'd prefer you to texture it.

Hey Gents there is a game i play called 18Wheels of Steel, Across Amrica a trucking simulation game.
The guys there do their own truck mods and skins, and do trailer mods as well. Use this site as a start to check out what other artists have done for textures on trailors.

Wow Errol. That looks awesome so far. It would be cool if you could get a team together that could knock this out. Show us more, show us more.

well, nothing new to show really but I have finished porting over all the original cars.
Some are giving me problems, mainly the handling on the Flower Plower, but they're basically all working now.
I'm still looking for someone who's able to use UnrealEd proficiently, I'm desperately in need of a mapper.
Other than that, the hud kinda works ok, a handful of powerups are in place and the bots are reasonably decent.
Concentrating on finishing the hud and throwing together a gui.
Public beta shouldn't be too far away.

Tell ya what thats a bloody good mod, someone really should help you out, my rig isnt up to it though. I don't think a 450MHz proc can really work wonders with UnrealEd.
