Me:
i use 3dsmax 3.1. My advice to anyone using cared, GET it (i have beroc to thank for that)
Heh, you kinda misunderstood. Beroc only convinced me to get Max, i acquired it via 'other' means . Anyway i'm sure it wouldnt be too hard to find on Kazaa or whatever its called. From what i've heard you can get anything from that :P

Do a black without stripes. It'll be so much sharper looking. Black with yellow stripes looks like a piece of road. Ultimate cheese factor.

while im on the subject, i might aswell unveil my plans for the skin(s). oh yes there will be more that one.
Planned skins are:
Red, Black, Silver. Red+Stripes, Black+Stripes, Silver+Stripes.
And hopefully if i have the time, one customised one. So no-one gets left out

Re: Criticise your ass off here!
What we need is a tie-dyed Viper. That'd be hella-sweet.
Re: Criticise your ass off here!
Yeah, a solid black skin...
just make sure you make a horiizon line and the top of the car is a bright color so it looks shiny in stead of flat- I hate black skins w/ no effort.( I'm not saying they're easily made though)
All this because if whatever is making the car look so good in Max IS INDEED some sort of filter/material thingy and you're making it for c2, then it won't look so good w/o it.
But the model is really good and I have no problem w/ 5000 poly counts.

Hell, I suppose if I want a tie-dye Viper, I may as well do it myself. Besides, I tie-dyed the little funny car.

Re: Criticise your ass off here!
After a request from Danz, ive gone ahead and completely overhauled the underneath (basically added some wheelwells etc). Apparently it is a really big problem to be able to see lots of the inside stuff from underneath (even tho you can on the real thing :P) Anyways here are 2 pics showcasing my amazing new underneath, it wont be this colour of course
If ive got time today (its 3:26am where i am) ill make another pic of the new engine ive made. Its low poly, but it does the job.
Ok, well, ah.... So much for later. I decided to do it straight away. No sense in wasting time :P
AND the wheels . Seats are up next. Its currently 5:14 am

Re: Criticise your ass off here!
Been a while eh fans? Well i've been workin kinda slowly because of other things i've been busy with, ie: schoolwork, life etc. Anyway i've got the seats, driver and wheels all in and ready now. Here are few pics that should show you what i mean.....
Anyway, now everythings added (and i made that nice little environment for her) she's finally been completed. Weighing in at a unfortunately high 6484 polys its not the lowest poly model you'll ever see, but i suppose thats the price you pay for nice curves eh? She'll be road worthy as soon as i finish the skin(s), which could be who knows when, so ill be sure to keep you guys posted
Till next time ...

Where's the color on those mags? Are they gonna be kept flat greyish/black?

Re: Criticise your ass off here!
Very nice! Nice body with a full set of curves. The driver and the car. But, IMO, the car seems a bit too wide.

Re: Criticise your ass off here!
Concerning the skin: If your asking about anything thats just got a solid colour, no its not going to be like that. The car, as i said before, isnt fully skinned yet (and i stress Yet!). They are just the block colours so it isnt all red and i know what colour it will be in the end .
Concerning the Proportions: When i originally modeled the car, the width and length were both equal to that of 2 reference pictures i had. However, i thought it looked kinda wierd (out of proportion) so..... i exaggerated some of the defining curves, and the size, to make it look more aggressive. Perfect for the carma world eh? Haha.
Anyway to the point of my post. I was meddling in Max earlier, pondering over 'real' reflections and whatnot (not a reflection map), when i tried a little experiment that made my eyes water with hapiness. 2 of the many, MANY screens i took are underneath. It really brings out the curves in the bodywork. Hope you guys like em. *Updated*
And to everyone who wants to see the Black Viper, you'll just have to keep checking back wont you .
