How Do You Play Carmageddon On Windows 8?

Does anyone know how to do this? I've been trying to find a way to play Carmageddon on Windows 8.

The steam version run well on Windows 10 X64, it must run well on win 8 too ... What's your problem?

The good old game version should run Ok too...

You're gonna have to jump through a lot of hoops if you wanna play an original vanilla copy of Carmageddon on a modern system. Like, you're gonna have to download an MSdos emulator called DOSBOX and you're gonna have to mount the CD data onto it, then mount a special folder for installation and install it, and THEN, you can boot the game through DOSBOX "only" and will have to remount your CD data and the installed game folder every time you want to boot the game, even then, the game might still say that it cannot find the CD.

Basically, just buy the steam version instead of going thru all that trouble, man. It just "works". It even has the ability to play at a much better framerate and much higher resolution thanks to the steam version having a 3DFX mode. On top of that, you get the Splat pack expansion for free bundled with it.

I have to use DOXBox? Why hasn't anyone made a patch or a sourceport yet?

if you're feeling lucky, you can always try the Win95 patch. However, it is not as stable as the DOS version. But like i said, hoops, a lot of them. Good luck with that.

It's from a GOG support admin, and there's about 14 pages of positive comments, so i'd say that yes, that looks legit.

When I open it, it says "This patch does not support your version of the game, please download a new installer." How do I get the patch to work?

Looks like you're out of luck, pal. Either get used to how dosbox works, or get the steam/gog version that works. You get what you pay for.

If there really isn't, how do I install the Carmageddon Max Pack from a flash drive using DOSBox? I can't figure it out.
