Re: Your Ride?
I'm getting rid of the Reliant. Was going to sell it, but there's a family member that has helped me in the past and currently has no vehicle, so I'm gonna give it to them.
Call me crazy, but I liked that car!
I'd still rather keep the Arrow, though.

Re: Your Ride?
I know this thread is nearly a year old, but screw you hippies.....
I was out for a drive from Dublin to Wexford (it's in the south-east of Ireland) a few weeks back, and got a few good pictures of my '95 Ford Escort Mk6:
At Sally Gap in the Wicklow Mountains:
At Rosslare Harbour in Wexford (nearly got stuck in the sand here):
And an interior shot:
So any update in what you lot have?
Deep_Blue, are you still driving around in that PT Cruiser with the dog dish wheels?

Re: Your Ride?
This is a nice Ford, better looking than the US counterpart of the same model!
As for an update, the GTI turned out to be cursed or something, plagued with engine troubles, so I traded it in on an 06 one of these things:
Scion TC. It's about 90% plastic! How anyone can be enthused by such a car escapes me, silly ricegrinders, but it's transportation till I fix one of my real cars.

Thanks!
As for your car Alan, looks sort of like a Corolla (well, they are all made by the same company!). Didn't you have a VW Bora (or a Jetta as you call them)?

Last year this was my ride
FX Tire shine, lol
The Cadillac has rusted faster than I want to fix it, so I swapped if for something less rusty
but also less sexy... on the other hand I'd always wanted one of these though older would have been nice.
Nothing too fancy, just a lil 305 in it, it's an '89.

Pilot: That was just a stock photo I found of an identical car. I would probably have gotten a big old tank too. but I had a newer tradein so I had to go with something newer.

Re: Your Ride?
Nice cars there |666HP|Trans-am, where is the picture of the LeBaron taken? Looks too hilly to be the Netherlands!
Anyway, I bought myself another Nissan Micra K10 last December, as my old one had completely rotted through the floor with rust. I still have my Ford Escort, this Micra is really only a second car!
^ Those chrome pedal things will be removed!
Needs some engine and body work to be done to it. More details here: http://molloy86.webs.com/mycars.htm
I'm looking into getting an '82 Ford Escort Mk3 as another restoration project. Watch this space.

Re: Your Ride?
I think Qwerty used to have an old LeBaron as well, but I think it was the version after that, a little more rounded early 90's. Recall he used to have a sig with a picture of the cardboard he used to catch the oil it leaked with the caption "what oil leak? Thats just the sweat from all that horsepower"
Re: Your Ride?
^ I remember that lol. That was right before the Taurus I think. That was back ages ago!

Re: Your Ride?
It was still the same car underneath. It's actually an '86 Lancer (the Dodger version of the LeBaron).
I wish I had that picture of the oil. I do know what you're talking about, I just don't have it.

That car pack you made for MM1 was crazy. My favorite was the Monster Truck.

Re: Your Ride?
Is it yours or your families?
I bought this restoration project last week, an '82 Ford Escort Mk3 1.3L:
The body is in surprisingly good condition, there is only a few surface rust spots, nothing some touch up paint won't fix. Their is no rust holes, and the sills are in good condition. I have yet to closely examine the arches, but they seemed okay. The paint work doesn't seem to be faded, some wax should bring up the shine in her.
As for the engine, it does need a good bit of work. The rocker cover gasket is pissing oil all over the place, and it's running only on 3 cylinders. Also, the carb may require a bit of attention.
The interior needs a good valet, and the floor need a bit of sanding down and paint. Apart from that, all's well.
All the electrics are working fine too.
This along with the Micra K10, they should keep me pre-occupied over the spring and summer. Hopefully I'll get bringing it to a few shows over the summer period. These cars are as rare as hens teeth now.

Re: Your Ride?
Yep, cars registered before 1987 had a different system to those after 1987 here. Before 1987, the plates where white on the front and red on the rear (some of them were black too), and the number and lettering system was totally different to now. More details can be found on Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_re ... of_Ireland
To find a car with these old pre-'87 plates are rare nowadays.
