Watching it live, and yeah... it looks kinda like the Fury in "Christine" after it was on fire.

They should have put into an over-ground tomb (similar to Lenin's Tomb).

Those 1950's Plymouth's were known to rust anyway. If they had to bury the car in the first place, at least make the coffin out of plastic/bakelite or something, something that wouldn't rot or deterorate for a few thousand years. Concrete though was a very bad choice.

Looking at the pictures, even after 50 years, it seems three out of the four tyres managed to keep the air in them!

I vaguely remember watching a movie when I was a kid where some guy had to ride around town under a certain amount of time or some such, and the car he used was one that was buried like this very story (which he and his friends secretely dug up). Not sure if it was based on this actual car or not, I remember it was a 50s tail finned car though.. wondering what the movie was called now!

Wow it's been ages since I been on here... Anyway what a shock to see a thread about something in my hometown, yeah she came out in bad shape, but still she was pretty. And yeah all the stuff in the time capsual part was fine. Wish that beer would have been  Anyway in case you didn't know we also burried a 2nd car back in like 98, it's was a prototype prowler. And in a much better vault. Hope to be around then, will be in my early 70's

I cant recall the title, I think it was a Corvette?

The coach or principal of the school used to be some badass racer, he put his racing aside and burried the car under the field, then a few years later some noob loses his car in a race against some asshat and they dig it up, fix it up and he becomes the best racer in town... I think.

Heh! I also saw that movie years ago! And also can't remember what it was called?!! I remembered the car being a '55 or '56 chevy though...and that the teacher or whoever guy used to go by "Fast Eddie", or some junk?!

Edit: Oh! It was the 1989 movie-film "Catch Me If You Can"...
