Nice Micro Cars

Post by coffeycup »

I saw this CNNmoney article about a Micro Car museum being sold. In case the content comes down, I liked the pictures and figured others here would too.

This all make me dream of a little TC for C2 :swheel:
We could easily come up with something really fun, even with only these cars and two or three colorful tracks.

Ladies and Gentlemen, behold the absolute zenith of automotive design micro or otherwise... I give you the KV Mini circa 1972!! It's dead sexy.

I started making one of these for C2 one time. It was pretty much finished model-wise, but I never did upload it. (that's never happened before, ever.)

I also had an idea for a mirco-car mod for C1 years ago... although only a 2cv, 360, fiat 500 and a super beetle (which I guess is "big" by comparison.) ever got made. :P

Whoa, the prototype KV even looks like it was made with CarEd.

If everyone one is hot on a Mini TC then we should all pick a car and see what happens (not like I need another project or anything)

First come, first served. You got it man.

I'm gonna grab the slab-sided silver one that looks like it's made from old aluminum ducts.
The names of vehicles are in the file name, if you're researching blueprints and pictures.
(although when I google 1957 Voisin Biscooter I see something different?)

Well, whenever the time comes, throw the '67 360 in there. I don't have the resources to make anything at the moment and the 360's one of my favorite micro cars anyway... no need to remake it a third time. :P

Oh wow you are fast! And it is looking good Maxine. It still needs some work, as you said, but you have just given the kickoff for this thing. I wonder how it will look with the additional stuff you mentioned.

I just got back from holiday, but I will be doing some work on my chosen vehicle the coming weeks. I could use a nice little project for a change.

edit:

Okay, it isn't much, but it is a start.

I might still have it actually... could be on the hard drive of my old comp in the basement. (the one I started C1 & C2 editing on) It's been formatted a bunch of times, but it's possible. Definitely nothing from 1999 / 2000 on there anymore though... guess such "masterpieces" as the original Masauce are lost to the sands of time!

Short history lesson before I get back on topic,
Long ago I wanted to make a londoney type thing, I made a really bad london bus drone, (well it wasent that bad but the newer one I made really kills it) It was high polly and dident look great, anyway the other Car I did was this rialto.. wich is a reliant robin with diffrent front and diffrent name? hm, (Btw, new screenshot I actully still have this model)
Image

Awhile after this there was talk in the SoD comunity of reliant robin racing, and how they could fall apart etc, I quickly modded my simple drone into many skinned vertions, with simple interiors basic engine and such by just modling in some windows, and we had this!,
Image

That is all, back to topic tho I havent touched the model since I uploaded the last pic of that P50 there, I know shame on me, Ill do more soon,

Hey, that's great Harm.
I guess this will be a fast car with that engine.
Imaging popping a wheelie!

I finally found some REALLY NICE high res photos of the C31 Biscooter

Check some of these out:
http://www.autowp.ru/pictures/voisin/c3 ... oter_1.jpg
http://www.autowp.ru/pictures/voisin/c3 ... oter_3.jpg

I never did find blueprints but I did find an overhead view that must've been taken during
the same photo shoot. It's only 500x300 wide but good enough for proportions.

But I don't think it's a good idea for me to get started on it yet.
Things don't seem to get finished when I try to nibble on a bunch of projects at once.

this is hilarious. Why can i see this working well in the Garage addon track from back in the day with the giant bus in it?

Oh yeah, I will definately finish that one!

Here's a little something extra. This is the texture model, with ambient light bake. Which means, this is pretty much what you will see ingame.
