I got some WIPs here if anyone's interested in finishing them...

Post by Deep_Blue »

Lately I've been kinda scarce around here on account of life keeps gettin' in the way.

Over the past couple years I've either built or acquired and modified a few models that I'd really like to see in the game. If anyone is looking for something to work on that won't require a whole lotta time and effort, I've got some stuff for ya.

Some of these models are entirely mine, some are public domain, and some are models made by other community members who I've gotten permission from to modify and re-release.

Some are finished all but for the paperwork, some are almost finished being built and some have a long way to go.

Anybody's interested in them-drop me a PM here and lemme know which ones ya want.

feel free to do whatever ya want with them-as long as the basic concept of the vehicle makes it into the game-as we all know, MORE is BETTER.

Here's a preview of some of the ones I could find:

Image

The first row (down):

The farmer's truck from the C2 intro movie

A sorta school bus I started working on based on my '34 Ford

A '41 Willys coupe that is pretty much done (in-game, needs physics and smashies)

A '40s Willys Bigfeets truck that was a joint effort between me an' Buzz awhile back

Second row (down):

Hellspawn's 60 Chevy wagon Pro-street-ed

My '87 Chevy stepside pickup (done and in-game but I think needs some physics and smashies)

A free Ford Bronco shell I glommed off the web

Meself on ma '01 Vulcan drifter (in-game) needs some tweakin'

Third row (down):

A pro-street modified Chevy Lumina van glommed off the web and modified

A cartoon-y hot rod a la George Barris called "Mean Green" that somebody sent me awhile back

An old Nash Rambler that needs some body straightening and mebbe some better detail (one of my first car attempts)

My Radigator ATV I made for the Ruin-Nation project (in-game but could use some tweakin')

And, finally a 1947 Pontiac (again, one of my first car attempts but I love it so much I don't wanna see it disappear) that needs some straightening and physics and smashies

I already got dibs on the first two in the list!!

I know the school bus will be more work not being textured, but is so f-ing cool looking.

So that's one untextured model that will get finished ( he says confidently :P )

Yeah, Tosh..

I know the untextured ones are more work, but I've been reading posts about people wanting to see different cars in game lately and I figured if anybody was looking for something to do, I had some cars that were already in various stages past the planning and I ain't got time to finish them (hell, I'm fairly gettin' to be an ol' man nowadays-I dunno if I can live long enough to finish 'em!)...What with work an' all I only see my home on weekends-an' that's just long enuf to find ma bed so I can check ma eyelids for pinholes...

I like the willys, nash and the 47 pontiac and would like to see em done..

I'd offer but...I remember when I went to finish up your rack body dodge project I think it just gave me a headache trying to finish it ('twas really sloppy drunkeness, which is good in its own right.. but not for me!) that I scraped the whole thing and just decided to make my own rack body truck, haha!

Sorry to bump this thread, but I came across the '34 school bus DB sent me years ago and I'm gonna try an' finish it...

Image

I brought it into Sketchup to texture it and do a little cleanup, I don't know how DB was able to make this is CarEd... it couldn't have been easy!

It's a show rod so it will be all shiney-like.

This original thread was posted 4 years ago. I only ever got 2 files from DB. If he was around I'd ask for some more. There were some he said just need some paperwork, physics, detachables etc.

The PM system is kind of borked at the moment. It'll only show the "you've got new messages" icon when you go into the inbox :|

Yay for science.

Yeah,

I don't want to hog them all, but the ones that just needs some paperwork I'd take:

- '41 Willys coupe
- '40s Willys Bigfeets truck
- '87 Chevy stepside pickup
- Radigator ATV

Might as well send the '60 Chevy wagon Prostreet too. Just needs a little more texturing and a driver??
If someone else wants any of the ones I listed speak up. I just hate to see these left unfinished...

I was looking the other day to see if I could find any of AdR's cars anywhere but I guess he went commercial with them. Did anybody ever make a (?Holden?) Monaro? (Not too familiar with Aussie cars-The black-on-black the Night Rider swiped).

I finally figured I'd try and get that '34 school bus into the game.

But some of the textures and the front wheels are giving me a hard time.

Coffey, what about you reset the identity matrix for the whole thing and set the wheels up again?
It just looks like their pivot is set at the origin.

Nice work with the model btw, too bad we can't easily keep the black lines like there was in sketchup.
Could be done with additional meshes using the wireframe mode and the old cel shading trick for stuff like the headlights.

LOL Coffey! Ya, pivot point.

I've had that problem before. :D

Sucks, don't it?
